After our initial strength test (scroll back a bit if you did not see it), someone in the Infinity Australia facebook page asked if the picnic table could stand TWO bricks The answer is, one brick good, two bricks bad (but it can handle the weight of two bricks with assistance)

Nothing actually broke but it was very difficult to get the weight to stay exactly above the legs. If I held it in place, the legs could take the weight but as soon as I let go it would fall one way or the other to the side. I think my work table is not actually level.

I was quite impressed that the normal wood glue did not tear… the card just bent. I’ll have these back on the table after straightening the legs up.

Just to be clear... I am in no way implying that our stuff is stronger than anyone else's - these are just to say that our stuff is stronger than most people give card credit for.

This is a model that I am really excited about. The test build went together incredibly easily meaning all we have to do is think about detailing. When you compare it to some other flyers it is a little big and so the next test will scale it down a little but overall it worked out fantastically.

Pretty dang cool.

All it needs now is a layer of detail texture to denote the windows and engines.

Indeed. Going to keep the detailing fairly minimal on this one. Just add fan-like intakes on the engines and some ailerons, some windows and maybe a cargo hatch at the back.

Oh - and shark teeth for the front. Those might be mandatory for the orc version

Sir, you have my arattention. What's the price range you're expecting for the gunship?

Thanks for the kind words. The final price will entirely depend on how much detail we add on but I think that it should come in at around U$ 18, including the stand.

I will have a better idea after the next test cut, which will include the detail

Sounds more than reasonable to me. I might have to make a test run order while I wait for it, then.

That seem great value , and less details might be a bonus to those wanting to super detail using army themed specific parts.

I suspect this will be popular !

We could spin you a yarn about "march madness" or something if you want or we can just say "25% off everything till the end of March".

To get this, please use this coupon: DAKKADAKKA

It is case sensitive so rather copy and paste.

We supplied the scenery for a 40k tournament over this last weekend that was part of Icon By The Sea - a local gaming convention

Here are the tables we did

There are bigger images here: http://lasercutcard.co.za/2015/04/icon-by-the-sea-2015/

The container docks table was a highlight of the tournament.
Apart from featuring plenty of examples of our shipping container range, it also featured a container ship AND an escort destroyer.
The destroyer had three basilisks on it, each of which could be fired once per game.

The Necron table represented the surface of a world totally given over to a data matrix and featured an example of every single item in our Cyborg range

The “Infinity” table represented something unfamiliar to most 40k players: unruined buildings. It had all our Futurehab range on it

The art deco ruins table was a big favourite with all the players, being dominated by a huge skyscraper that had special rules attached to it. This used multiple versions of our art deco ruins

The ork table used all of our existing Orc range as well as our soon-to-be-released orc fort and orc bastion

The Nurgle table featured a large number of disturbing baby heads, showing that cute little dolls can be way way creepier than skulls.

The alpine table represented a 40k version of the Ardennes

The entire weekend was a blast and we will definitely be back next year, bigger and better.

That is truly disturbing

And I'd love to see more of the container ship.

Thanks! It always gives a warm feeling to see parents walk their kids over to that table and then hurriedly walk them away again. I have big plans for a Slaanesh table.

I'll take some more detailed pictures of the pieces during the course of the week

The gunship model is finished… it just needs a nice paint job.

It should retail for $16 including the stand.

it is bigger than a storm talon and smaller than a storm raven.

We're keeping the detailing down so that you can modify it into whatever you want.

Gunship is looking really good. Glad to finally have an affordable gunship available.

The gunship is finally ready and in the store.

This was surprisingly difficult to paint for me as I am not used to larger models like this.

There are a a bunch more photos here. http://lasercutcard.co.za/2015/04/the-gunship-is-released/

If you are wondering how difficult it might be to build, the instructions to build it are here: http://lasercutcard.co.za/shop/download/manuals/v13.cfm

We've been playing around with this for a while, including using a prototype in a local competition to see how players interacted with it.

It is almost ready to go

The idea is to produce a modular fort that comprises of four basic kits:

A bastion

A gatehouse

A tower

A wall

The gatehouse, tower and wall also come with two short angled walls so that you don't have to have a perfectly square fort.

We aim to have each set priced at around $10 and you can buy what you want depending on how big you want your fort to be

As for player feedback,
- it was a great LOS blocker at the centre of the table
- The short walls are counted as buildings with stats Armour 11/11/11 HP2 so that they can be destroyed in game relatively easily
- the other pieces are Armour 12/12/12 HP3
- having the pieces modular made it very easy to pack away and the pieces were really strong

Now to paint them

The orc fort is complete

It comprises these elements:

Bastion

Gatehouse set (gatehouse + two short walls)

Tower set (tower + two short walls)

Wall set (long wall + two short walls)

The entire fort is $38 and the components are available individually.

Any chance of a version with a fatter fuselage and a rear ramp? I can model on the side doors to make a Valkyrie alternate, but the ramp might be a pain.

P.S. Thanks for bringing back the Art Deco ruins! Definitely want to grab some of those soon.

We're not going to modify that model much apart from adding landing skegs but we are thinking about doing this

<standing applause> That's exactly what I'm talking about. I could rig a rear ramp on that easily! I love the Valkyrie models, but my Inquisitors need something unique to show up in.
