Power station / reactor CAD

So... is this a playable piece? What about storing it? Should there be a walkway round the top of the cooling towers? So many questions! And punctuation!

Dropship CAD

Steve has been hard at work on a generic dropship/shuttle. We've been wanting to do one for a while. How does this one look?

Dropship!? You just said the magic word! I like it, but it looks more like it should be a gunship than a dropship. There doesn't look to be enough room to fit troops in it.

Hmm I think you are right. I think we are hedging our bets a little here so that it could be either. We'll take a second look for the next CAD

G-6 52 Artillery (generic BIG GUN)

The G6 self-propelled howitzer is a South African artillery piece, developed around the ordnance of the G5 howitzer. It was (is?) one of the most powerful self-propelled guns on a wheeled chassis.

Here are some pictures of some work I did over the weekend... painting up some old test cuts of FUTUREHAB #1 with some corporate branding from one of our favourite sci-fi corporations

Someone sent me a list of the top 10 evil corporations of all time and so I felt that #1 HAD to be represented on my table.

Here is a link to the banners and posters I used.

Casspir 2 paint test

This model is almost done. I just want to make a small change to the side door... it will be bigger and the hinges will be moved so that they are both on the vertical plane. I have messed around with 2 different turrets. The figures are for scale and for coolness factor as these test models will make it into my army. There are some scale pictures with the Ratel and a Chimera

These all look great!!

Can I make a suggestion for a future vehicle ?

Take the top half of the Ratel 90.
Shorten the overall length by about the same amount as the side door takes up.
Use the bottom, tracked half, of the APC Tracked.
Troops disembark from a rear hatch.
Use the smaller Turret off of the Caspir II.

This sounds great! I will see if I can get a CAD done.

If you did a flatbed version of the casspir 2 I would be tempted so I could orkify it.

Here are some shots of our new range of "orc" stuff:
- Objective markers, suitable for either hidden objectives or tactical objectives
- A set of two armed watchtowers
- A boss hut
- A set of three small scrap shacks

We are expecting to add to this range in the next two weeks with several new buildings already in development

Eight objective markers cut from 3 layers of 1mm cardboard. Each marker has a slot for a 12mm die to record the mysterious objecive roll.
One side has an orc glyph, the other side has a value in the range 1,2,2,3,3,4,5,6.
The numbers 1,2,2,3,3,4 can be used for HIDDEN OBJECTIVES
The numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 can be used for TACTICAL OBJECTIVES

Only the best will do for da boss. This is a large hut built from scrap metal. It features a fighting deck on top that is also perfect for spotting enemies in need of a hiding.

Da enemy is kunnin'! Don't let your opponents get the drop on you. Protect your encampment with these armed watchtowers and sleep easily at night.
Guns are included!

Everyone needs a place to keep the rain off their heads. This set includes three shacks made from scrap. The set has 27 interchangeable pieces and no hut need every be the same.

Very nice (great paint jobs too).
I could see myself using the little shacks but not the others as I don't play orcs.
Still got to pick up the Ratel platoon deal sometime!

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

The scenery looks great and shipping to the UK is nice and low. Might pick up a few bits'n'bobs next payday. Trying to stock up on a mix of LOS blocking terrain so it's not the same battlefield all the time.

Thanks! We've kept all the glyphs off the small shacks so that they can be used in post apoc settings or modern conflict too.

I have another set of these to paint up (an earlier test build) and I'll hopefully be able to show you what I had in mind for them originally. This was to have each "set" based on an irregular piece of masonite or MDF and have this a mini diorama.
So three shacks together on a very low hill with maybe some corrugated card walkways / duckboards between them. Then these can be plonked down to provide cover / difficult terrain for infantry but to leave spaces between the large bases for vehicles

I'll hopefully have this done over the weekend

Err <looks shiftily about> yes? That is to say, it has a power klaw that is laser cut from card. Not a LaserCutCard power klaw. But that is not a bad idea

Here are two new orky things plus some bundle packs we've done

A mek shop

Some heavy machine guns based on .303 brownings

Settlement starter pack - watchtowers, shacks and a boss hut

Settlement expansion pack - more shacks and a mek shop

I am aiming to have all of these based this weekend and will upload more images then

Hmn, expect a visit from me next time my wages come in. ^^'

Odd question, but is the art deco ruins set going to see any more pieces in future? I'm hoping to pick up one at some point, though an expansion on it wouldn't go amiss. Uh, though I suppose that's down to how its been selling for you and well your own interest. Still, I'd like to see at least one of those buildings mixed in with some of my urban Fallout terrain.

Thanks for the kind words

I actually got about 75% of the way through the second building before stopping. The reason was that as nice as those buildings are, they are fairly expensive and certainly extremely expensive compared to our other products.

But we might be investigating doing some 10mm scale art deco buildings and if we do I will produce the second building in ruined 28mm scale.

Just out of interest, you can see the unruined building that our model is a ruined version of here: https://www.google.co.za/maps/@-29.861698,31.021665,3a,75y,2.5h,102.32t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1syLRu1PRc8sUxlyZwYozKJg!2e0!6m1!1e1

I was intending to make some inner city buildings myself, then you're building popped up on google (I didn't even notice those ruins on there till google popped them out). I suppose the roadblock that I'm personally seeing isn't so much the base cost of the items, but perhaps how much it'll cost to ship them. If the lot's kept under I £60 though I'd be all right with that. I could probably manage to make something similar myself, and well that's still the plan, but I know I've spent more on worse looking stuff, so this one indiscretion won't be so bad. That and well I suppose looking at how you made yours could give me ideas for some of my own (though the buildings in Fallout aren't quite as fancy. I'd put down yours to being from an earlier period before everything became quite so monolithic).

Heh, cool. I saw on your blog that you'd made another building based on one in the US too (the skyscraper). Neat to see you've based yet another thing on what you have in your local area too (the market's saturated with American, European and Asian terrain and vehicles, not so much African unfortunately. South Africa would be an interesting location to set games though).

Anyway, tah for responding and the information. ...Take your time on that second one if you do wind up working on it again. Eugh, I already have a ton of other stuff to finish before I should even make a start on some urban terrain.

We have a quad cannon already here http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/vehicles/quad-gun
We want to replace it with a cheaper simpler model so I am replacing all the MDF parts with card.
Here is a test of the base. The cogs do work. The autocannons on it will be based on the ones from the chaos autocannon

Orc barricade / aegis concept test
We are looking at doing a super-cheap super-simple orc barricade. It will basically be five layers of card thick and each layer will carry different detail. The idea is that it will all be made from "found" material. This is a test of one of the long pieces. I am happy with the concept but it just needs more scrap added to the details. Recut due on Tuesday

Orc bastion first test cut
This needs some tiny changes as the card is not exactly 1mm thick but it is also ready for the detailing stage

Orc gatehouse first test cut
This worked pretty much perfectly first time! Now on to the detailing
