Except when Tamiya can churn out something like this In 1:35 scale for £20, you know that £60 for GW's offering looks like a rip-off...

Beef - bringin' the pain for 1660 posts, and counting! That was a sick, sick burn. Exalt! I guess it's not a bad price...for GW. I think I saw the U.S. price in another thread for $90 or $95? I honestly expected it to be more like $110 or $120. At least $100. Of course, GW still has time to change the price!

Sorry, I did not mean to confuse people. I actually think its a good price !!
Considering it is half the price of the Forgeworld version, and will be much easier to put together !
I know Tamiya kits are cheaper and more detalied, but I would not like to carry them around and game with them !

But it doesn't have the P.I.M.P. rules that the Baneblade does. That's worth 40 quid to me.

£60 is not bad considering the size of the kit and how much GW kits usually cost (e.g. £25 for a Hammerhead.)
However, it will not get a lot of play, being too big and powerful for most games.
You could probably buy three entire DBA armies for £60 and set up a small campaign.

And then join the other miserable, crotchety old bastards that play that DBA and listen to an inplay rules argument that makes YMDC rules discussions with Ghaz & Ed look like two fluffy kittens playing with a ball of string - all cute and cuddly. DBA rules set was obviously written by some-one with ESL skills and even manages to make 40k appear tightly written and Gav a lyrical genius.

Really? I thought that the general consensus was that DBA was an extremely tight ruleset, after you translate the "Barkerese." I haven't read it yet though, so I don't really know.

The funny thing is the original price of the Baneblade has already gone up in Australia, and it hasn't even been released yet. It's nice when not-yet-released products get included in a price increase. BYE

Gross Osbad. Gross. I'd take a Leopard modern kit with brass etched parts anyday! But that isn't the point. Making the point that a 1:35 WII German tank is cheaper then a baneblade is like telling a warmachine player he could buy manga robots for cheaper and they'd have more detail. Some people like the imagry. If I'm out shopping for a sherman 1:35 kit and see an Italian WWII kit for half price what makes you think I'd just say "hey- that has treads and a gun- SOLD!"?

BYE If it hasn't been released, and you haven't spent any money on it, did it really go up? price sheets are due to change all the time. so, in all reality the price never went up, it will just be higher than anticipated.

No offense, but the logic is a bit weak here. I don't really think that's a valid point. Not in the sense that it's invalid, just in the sense that it's not really a point. It simply begs the question: what if it has been released, and you haven't spent any money on it, did it really go up then? Or is the price just higher than anticipated?

The price is higher than antisipated. Even the £60 price tag we see here is not 100% for sure untill we actually see the box in store at that price. Alot can happen untill then

It wasn't an argument. It was a question. If the tree that fell was oak then yes. if it was any other wood, then no. (edited for spelling)
