Ok yeah so, not so many Jews in the world, but jeez, even though I don't care about another religion per se. I'd still try to avoid having a huge event on any major holiday. Especially one where you're supposed to be in temple or observant the entire day. Wow, huge err on GW there, they're really loading the bases. 2 loser codexs and now holiday conflicts... Rant off, now back to warmachine.

Who cares what religious holiday it falls on. DONT PLAY THEN, if it falls on your religius sabbath. Jewish holidays are hardly MAJOR anyway. Its not like its Christmas or something. (a holiday observed by people that dont even beleive in god)
...by the way, religion is a crutch for the weak-willed.

From Wikipedia: In the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, a tradition of spanking or whipping is carried out on Easter Monday. In the morning, males throw water at females and spank them with a special handmade whip called pomlázka (in Czech) or korbá? (in Slovak). The pomlázka/korbá? consists of eight, twelve or even twenty-four withies (willow rods), is usually from half a metre to two metres long and decorated with coloured ribbons at the end. It must be mentioned that spanking normally is not painfull or intended to cause suffering. A legend says that females should be spanked in order to keep their health and beauty during whole next year Why would you want to play with toy soldiers on a day you could spend idly flaying your girlfriend?

With religious festivals going on all the time it is impossible to avoid clashes. If GW has a tourney in Israel I am sure Yom Kippur and Pesach will be avoided.
Christmas is the only festival everyone avoids, because it is a holiday throughout the western world. Even then it has nothing to do with religion to most, including and especially any company involved in retail sales. Sazzlefrats, you are lucky that your religious festivals are not taken over by people outside your faith purely as a sales ploy, I dont see much room to complain.

Just make a deal with the big man upstairs to dedicate all your kills to him or something. Old school! From experience, schedualing tournaments is a major headache, and you're always gonna upset someone.

would it not be better on a religious day as you wont be at work anyway so you could go to the tournie. Surely you would not want to spend the day with family? Unless your into that sort of thing

Because demeaning someone's tradition shows real testicular and intellectual fortitude. Part of the reason I never get to play tournaments is that they're usually on Saturday (starting in the late mornings) and I'm usually, ah, busy, at that hour. No biggie. I accept that mine is a minority culture and gets the short end of the stick. However, by scheduling events on any holiday (Xmas, Easter, Yom Kippur) it shows an insensitivity toward those who would use it to spend time communing with their families, never mind their God. They can do what they want, and I'm sure attendance won't suffer for it, but it strikes me as bad form. And Deadshane? I'm happy to be weak-willed if it means I'm not a flame-baiting, bigoted mouthbreather like you. Die in a fire.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.
I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

Just as flame-baiting is a crutch for people who have absolutely nothing worthwhile to say. Keep that post count down.
