I heard tonight at GW store that plastic Thunderhawk will be out next summer. Planned release with Planetstrike rules set. Quoted price is $200.
I will be getting at least 4.

I heard about this too, not long after a mate bought one from FW for about $900.00 AU.
We still keep ribbing him about that, but as yet I have seen no proof of the thing.
*sigh-what a dream.

For $200, I'd rather hire a hooker the next time I go to Vegas!
I'd get more play time, play with a sexier model, and have a better story to tell afterwards.
Of course, at the current prices for FW Thunderhawks, it's enough to make the party interesting with a 2nd girl and small pile of blow...

I'd probably buy a couple, but I'm more interested in new 40K Terrain for PlanetStrike.

I've seen no proof as such, however the BA Thunderhawk assult force could be a hint towards that, I mean come on GW, if your not going to make a cheaper plastic version, who in their right mind wold have enough to field this datafax? Even if you used one at a time what would the point be? You'd just be dividing yourself at the points cost allowing your opponent to pick you off one thunderhawk at a time!

$200 seems a little steep given the cost and complexity of the Baneblade.

Um, you rock!
And really, aside as terrain, just how useful is a Thunderhawk model in a game of 40k anyway?
(And buying 4 of them? Madness!)

I have the new Apocalypse Reload book and am sure that the Thunderhawk featured (In the battle report) is different to the FW version so that could well be the plastic version.
Also, on the inside back cover there is a photo of three Ork Stompas, the middle Stompa is a plastic one to be released in January.

Why would they release a stompa when they still have not released a damn battlewagon? I need 5 battlewagons and I do not want to go the FW route.

Not to disparage the fine working ladies of Nevada, but at least the Thunderhawk has less of a chance of giving you crabs. I'm not saying it's impossible, just unlikely.

Sounds to me like the Thunderhawk kit could be used to MAKE the Planetfall terrain.

$200 for a plastic kit?
Can't see myself stretching to that, that's serious money and it's just a kit. I'd like the Baneblade but would rather wait and find it for less than £50 (not impossible), but with the Thunderhawk looking to have an RRP of over £100 its an unjustifyable expense no matter how lovely it looks.

And she might even give you a gift that will stay with you for the rest of you life.
But in all seriousness $200 for a Thunderhawk that will potentialy be twice the size of the Baneblade it might just be worth it. The only thing that I am hoping for would be for some other fliers to come out in plastic.

Seriously, $200 is small change when compared to spending $800+ to get Forgeworld version.
If you have a battle company of marines they deserve the Thunderhawk. I mean honestly we play 40k. Money is spent like water.
@ JHDD If throwing your $200 at some hooker with more miles on her ass than a 40 year old broken mule is more worthwhile than buying a ThunderHawk. I must say that you need to leave house and get some fresh air.

I dunno if I will buy one (T-Bird of Death). So many factors, and they won't match the two I have. I'm big on matching vehicles, however infantry models I will mix and match like it's cool.
