Another Painting Challenge has come and gone, not only did I have a good time I learned a bunch. After reading Yak's comments on Greebynogs post, I played around with brightness and contrasts on my own pic. What a difference.

The bright orange hands kept my vote away, I'm afraid. I like the rest of the model though

Yeah, I like the model, but I thought that the bright orange on the LCs detracted from it :p

And the difference in aspect is abyssal. Which is why I proposed doing something about it, like pics being jpeg, no bigger than 800x600 or something, and everyone having the same treatment (like auto levels, contrast etc) in order to make it fair for every participant.

Gimp is a free photoshop clone and available to any participant. There's a level playing field that people didn't take advantage of.

The only real problem, and costly piece is the camera. Borrow your friend's really cool camera if you want that deluxe shot. Mine only cost me about $150 due to it being a refurb. It's the entry level kodak with a macro. Even with that, it did a decent enough job. I didn't feel right playing with the levels, so I kept it as is.
