Searched but couldn't find if this was already discussed. Maybe I still have to work on my search-fu.

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=9600008

Can someone get larger, clear versions of the images posted?

Edit: On a similar note, I found this description of the Land Raider in the store: "Equally impressive are its armaments - four lascannon and twin-linked heavy bolters allow the Land Raider to deliver punishing support fire capable of decimating enemy infantry and tanks alike." Has it always said this, or is this actually increased fire capabilities for the LR. And is it still a seperate kit from the Crusader/Redeemer?

I tryed to blow up the images, but they where too distorted.

I think the New Land Raider kit is seperate from the Traditional Land Raider kit. They always say that it is the Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer, so I always assumed that this new kit replaces the current Land Raider Crusader kit.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

I think you are right.

There is no mention of making a normal land raider out of this kit.

On a related note, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, it gives you rough stats for the crusader/redeemer. Confirming the increased cargo capacity of the vehicles. 9 termies in crusader is kinda sweet.

Odd how this redux kit is cheaper than the original with less options.

It would be strange if the kit did not include the standard Land Raider options, I think. The new codex army list options for the Land Raider are reported to have the Multi-melta as an upgrade for all Land Raider variants, not just the Redeemer and the Crusader. This would lead me to believe that the standard LR armament comes in the box along with the Multi-melta, since GW has been shying away from not providing options for the newer kits they produce.

I don't think it would be much of a stretch to get the lascannons and heavy bolters in there along with the rest of the new stuff. They recut the Land Speeder to include all the options, I think they've done this with the LR as well.

I agree. But the entry for the crusader/redeemer says nothing about being vanilla.

I think it has to include the vanilla due to a sprue in the kit that has the sponson brackets to attach it to the LR along with the turret for the HB/Ass can.

Unless they recut those too.... *shrug*

The size of the book ( page count ) is interesting - hope more of the artwork is original though.....

Since there isn't a separate Land Raider Crusader entry in BT/DA/BA section does it mean we get to use the new capacity?

Yeah, now I'm just being sarcastic.

December-January.

Regarding the LR Crusader/Reedemer, they did mention that this was a dual all-plastic kit in the seminar, but they didn't mention (and I didn't ask) whether it also makes the standard Land Raider too.

I certainly hope so. I've been burned in the past.(If I worked for GW I'd be really embarassed at that track record.) I'll stop going off topic now.
I'm glad the increased the transport capacity- it's a bit wierd that you can't take a squad with an attached character in a transport for marines.

Weirder still for those with BT, DA or BA armies who, for some reason, have less space in there.

Then again I 'spose all those purity seals, shields, swords, devotional scripts and feathers that non-Ultramarines plaster their tanks with do weigh something after all; so maybe it's more a limitation of the tanks suspension than an actual capacity limit.

Any thoughts on the four lascannons as opposed to two twin-linked lascannons? I think that is the only thing that would make me consider taking one over the other two variants.

4 LC vs. 2 linked LC

Simple typo or a huge uparmament?

GW's got a long history of both, but I'd bet it's just a typo. We'll see soon enough.

I think it's about saving space wiht "4 LCs" as opposed to "2 twin LCs."

Yet, they kept "twin-linked heavy bolters" instead of saying two heavy bolters. Now, I know GW is not exactly known for their consistency, but this at least makes one wonder.

Hmm... Chaos marines have a smaller limit as well. I guess it must be all of their wargear choices weighing them down.
Hey, wait a minute...

I saw the codex at the LAGD and unless I'm crazy the Land Raider still has two twin-linked Lascannon sponsons.

Then again, it does stand to reason. If Ultramarines are going to have different Land Raiders to the other 6 armies that use them, might as well go the whole hog and give it different standard weapons as well.

'Cause that sure ain't confusing.

Well it´s obvious innit! It´s because Ultramarienz (hurrr) don´t need bathroom and dining facilities in their Land Raiders!

At least that´s the fluff reason, I hear.......

So that's what that thing is?

But it's got 5 doors and you can't shut them. Not very private.

I got to play with a new assembled LR yesterday.
new plastic bits are robust, but otherwise pretty much what we had before.

HOWEVER have been manhandling the new drop pods for the last week and they are all kinds of awesome.
I'll be doing all mine with closed doors to save on painting time, except an open one for command groups.

Also got to read the SM book (fluff section and model section only). Didn't have time, and couldn't be bothered reading the rules. Great big book, lots of great pics. Worth the buy (I'm getting mine from the UK for a 30% saving)

I'm really hoping for a Drop Pod deal like they did for the Piranha when it first came out. They had a box of three for the price of two.

That would be a sweet deal to get more models out there, it worked well for the Piranha when it's plastic kit first came out.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

I have only seen the single boxes and havn't heard if they are doing the 3 for 1 deal, at least not in Australia.
