This is the test model,for a tyranid hive fleet klendathu obviosly based on starship troopers,i am painting my tyranids to resemble bugs from st most commonly the warrior so heres my ravener.

He has no other arms because i wanted him to be able to tuck his arms in so he could fit through bug holes easily

Not a big fan, maybe because the base color looks a little metallic. If you're trying to get a mottled effect, you might consider getting a small sponge and using that to dab color onto the basecoat instead of using a brush.

I like the scheme! It reminds me a great deal of the Old One Eye special character, so if you wanted a little extra backstory, you could explain that this is where Carnifexes with crushing claws and regeneration first appeared; tying it in nicely with both the close combat Starship Troopers bugs and 'classic' Tyranid backstory.

I do agree that a little more careful work on the base colour to remove the pseduo-metallic effect would improve them, but looking forward to seeing more.

The red seems a bit overdone, but everything else looks pretty good

The red is either too bright or tge other colours are too weathered but keep trying at it as i like the colour choices and post the changes

why not just use SST warrior bugs with 'nid rules?

Well i not using sst figures for a few reasons

1,not tourny legal
2,to big
3,i want the challenge of trying to make them look like out of sst.
