I am giving my EC a tweak paint wise. I came up with a way of swirling liche purple and tentacle pink to create a pattern that I like for the armor on my EC. I used this method on my rhinos and other vehicles, but painted my noise marines solid pink. I had recently painted up a lord and sorcerer using this swirl method and decided to go back and try it on the rest of my troops.

At first I was going to strip the models and start from scratch. But I experimented on a practice piece and decided just to paint over the pink areas of my models.

My big question is - what is the best way to remove decals from models?

I would try soaking the decal part in medium heat water, should strip it away nice, my friend tested this. But if you have applied varnish or something it won't work i think..
Worth a try tough
Hope it works

with out removing the paint I would try very very very carfuly scratching them off with a knife

I believe Micro Sol will work on decals even after they've dried completely. Failing that, I'd try stronger solvents until I find the middle road of removing the decal without hurting the paintjob. I don't have any ready links for you, but model train sites usually has more in-depth decal working info. Best of luck, you've got a good looking army in the works there.

Thanks to those who responded. I ended up soaking the models in water than scraping the decals off with a knife. It was a little bit of work, but I gotten all the decals off my army.

Right now.

Here are some WIP pictures of my EC. I am going to have to go back and clean up the trim and do some long neglected detail work on my models. At the moment I have half my army painted up with the new paint scheme.

In a similar vein, now that GWS is going to produce rules for the legions I am thinking of making a squad of noise marine terminators and bikers.

Thanks! They look great! But i'm wondering what head did you use for the Aspiring Champ? Can't really place it anywhere...
Yeah Noisy Termis would look great. I hope that the new Legion Codexs will be good, then i can finally start my Tzeench project

Overall great work dude

Thanks, its nice to have ones work appreciated. The head and the body are from a 2nd edition noise marine miniature. I just took away the blastmaster and gave him arms and a backpack from the current chaos marine spruce.
