Ultramarine Scout with Sniper Rifle

Chapter Master, Artificer Armour, Lightning Claws - 170
5 Honour Guard, Chapter Banner, 1 Thunder Hammer (Champion), 1 Relic Blade - 240

Land Raider Crusader - 250

Chaplain with Jump Pack - 115
10 man Assault Squad, Power Fist - 215

2 x 10 man Tactical Squads with Lascannons & Meltaguns - 370 total (185 each)

7 Scouts - Power weapon, 1 x Sniper, 2 x Shotgun (This squad is not a serious squad, they are included because I put so much effort into converting & painting the models) - 116

8 Devastators with four missile launchers - 198

5 Sternguard - 125

Predator Destructor - 85

Dreadnought with Assault Cannon - 115

Total - 1999
This list is designed to be as flexible as possible - In games where I need more troops, the assault squad will go without jump packs and become a troop selection, and the chaplain will ride with the honour guard etc. Or I can just mix it up some other way. Models I have left in my collection, not used in this list:

8 scouts
6 Veterans (assault)
5 Terminators (both shooty & assault formations available)

I will play test it in a few days, any suggestions?

Well, the transport capacity of an LRC is wasted if a non-Termie squad is transported. I'd mount Assault Termies in there led by a Chaplain.

I think you may have a point there, in fact the land raider may not be the best choice at all, but i looked at how many of my models have been left out thanks to this new codex (which I am pretty dissapointed with) and I cant leave out the raider.

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

sternguard are best when mobile, they need transports or librarians with the gate of infinity to do that. Also, If you can take 32 points out of anywhere, put in into your devastator squad. being able to fire at 2 targets is priceless.

Ok I assume you mean sternguard + rapid fire = death.

Well today I am going to buy a drop pod at the shop, maybe a combi melta might be a good addition to that squad?

nice work, love the painting, not too sure on the guard head though, i always found that guard heads were too small for space marines, well, as my friend aliib rightly said, peace out...

*just got back into fire emblem on GBA, im now REhooked, and whilst my DS was charging due to overuse, i MODed my own fire emblem stat sheet on photo shop*

Thanks guys. They are painted as Ultramarine 1st Company, thus they carry the white markings.

After some more playtesting I have come up with the final list. I am getting bored with the marines so this is how they will stay. I am painting up the last few so they are all to the same standard, then im going to varnish the whole army and start on my new Kult of Speeeeed Army... WAAAAAGH. Ive never played orks before in any form so it should be fun.

OK FINAL LIST:

Chapter Master, Artificer Armour, Lightning Claws - 170
6 Honour Guard, Chapter Banner, 2 Relic Blades (one on the chapter champion) - 240

Land Raider Crusader with Multi-Melta - 260

Chaplain with Jump Pack - 115
9 man Assault Squad, Power Fist - 197

2 x 10 man Tactical Squads with Lascannons & Meltaguns - 370 total (185 each)

8 Devastators with four missile launchers - 198

8 Sternguard, Combi-Melta - 205

Predator Destructor - 85

Dreadnought with Assault Cannon - 115

Total - 2000

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

final list lacks troops
i think 2 small scout units would add quite a bit to the list for thier points cost.

I have 15 scout models but they have never been that effective in battle. So they would be a good choice but the deal has been sealed.

Also, having the whole army painted as first company means it looks better without them.

the only thing i have to say is the crusader is sweet. just the fact that you can move 6'' and fire every weapon on that thing and it only gets better when you use the sc tank guy with it. oh and watch the kill points when you split your tacs into combat squads thats what gets me in trouble in annilation.
