Ok so I have been collecting orks for 7 days now! I am building a speed freeks army inspired by the mad max trilogy. I have had some advice on the army composition and the army list is set. See this thread:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/220787.page

I am going to bore you all with my progress as I build this army

So far I have painted 18 boyz, 4 nobz and 1 bike. Not bad for the first week. Normally it takes me much longer to paint marines.

My most enjoyable model is this trukk that will cart my Big Mek around. It is equipped with armour plating, stikkbomb chuckers and a reinforced ram. This is my first attempt with plasticard and Im really pleased with how it turned out.
As soon as I can (probably within 48 hours) I will paint this sucker up and update this thread.

Road Warrior? You know you now need to make a character like Lord Humungous right?

from this view they look great. one tinyproblem on the trukk is that it looks closed top now. you can say that it is cloth though, not metal

though you can also say that it is armour plating

nice trukk, I may steal the front bonnet idea.

karlfranz is right that it looks 'closed top' - but as trukks don't get that option in the rules, i don't think it will cause any game confusion - or of course you can simply cut lots of holes in the roof

For just seven days of work that's real good. I never even got my first ten boyz painted when I briefly attempted starting an Ork army. Love the trust, and while it may have a top, I wouldn't really call it a closed top, what with there not much much for sides on it.

The pic of the boys doesn't really give much into about them. They're hard to see. Better pics with better lighting would be great.

That trukk, though. Brilliant! It's really well done.
I like the back half more than the front, but the front is fairly decent, too. It's a good way to hide the engine compartment, so you can use the engine for something different.

Ok I managed to squirm out of some other commitments and paint the trukk this evening. I am looking forward to painting one of the plain trukks now as it should need less attention to detail. I will post a pic of the boyz as soon as I can get some good lighting. I quite like how they turned out but theyre nothing really special, I will put the extra effort into the characters.

Hope to have another trukk and a squad of bikes done in the next seven days. Although I also have my last uni assignment due in the next seven days as well. I wonder which will win?

or not???

just another option. only joking. besides, orks don't have tina-esque hair...its just not curly enough.

orks as a race must suffer so much stress...its all that fighting. it makes them all bald prematurely!!
