Yes, I'm jumping on the bandwagon Trying to make this warband out of stuff I have lying around as much as possible, and trying not to buy anything for it. This is a small servitory guy I made from a BsfP night gobbo, heavily shaved down at the torso and face and resculpted using Procreate and GS, plasticard and wire. Hope you like this, am starting work on some Skitarii based on Vostroyans, wish me luck

A VERY nice start. I couldn't place the model until you mentioned it! That's really the biggest compliment possible ^_^. Taking something like a night gobbo and making it undeniably your own model is such an awesome feat!

That claw arm really drives home the ad-mech feel.

Worldwide =][=munda for sure.

Nice to see another person inspired by Migsula's work, not to mention another Scotland based member on the boards!

It's certainly a promising start, lots of nice little details added. The only thing I would say is the hood could use some sanding down on the right hand side where the PC is a little rough.

Looking forward to more.

Cheers,

Wow! I really like that one. Not so sure on the Vostroyan based Skitarri though... But yeah, we'll see!

Love the ragged texture- he's come out looking very John Blanche, even without paint. Keep it up!

@Grey Death Thanks a lot mate =][=munda ftw

@Xanthos, Hehe, 't be a big and shiny and good bandwagon indeed

@CMDante, ta, agree about the hood. Was actually in GW Glasgow today in passing and saw some of your work in the cabinets, very nice mate

@Malika2, ta, maybe you're convinced now, I felt that the Vostroyans had just the right amount of ornateness and stuff

@tinfoil, hehe, thanks, he has been likened elsewhere to a Womble

@Boss_Salvage, ne'er too much of a good thing? Ta

@Savnock, ta, lol, never thought of him in terms of John Blance *hmm*

@migsula, thanks means a lot coming form you as you're essentially what inspired this all

I think the rifle looks good as it is, the lack of barrels and stuff makes it look quite high-tech IMO Not much progress, based up the two I've got so far, would have started painting but the weather was too wet for priming today :( Hope you like:

ACk, PP style bases! I know it´s a preference thing, but it always makes me cringe....

Having said that, the basing itself does look good, really looking forward to seeing some paint on these bad boys.

Awesome bases mate, the guard conversion looks cool too. One thing I would suggest is trying a milliput wash to fill in and smooth the areas where GS joins etc.

Looking forward to more!

PS. Which mini's did you see in the cabinets, cant remember what I have in there!

Cheers,

Good point on the milliput wash mate, ta. I saw your SM scouts, your Uriel Ventris and one other truescale marine and some of your ghouls IIRC, very nice

Oi, since these guys are Adeptus Mechanicus you should definitely include some crazy high tech goodies such as servo skulls, plasma weapons and what not!

What about some big Servitor (Praetorian?) in your group that counts as an Ogryn Bodyguard, check the rules for that one here! You know you want to...

Looks great Warpy! (Hehe, you've got a strange tendency of changing username on every forum you visit. )

I gotta agree with Xanthos on the PP style bases.. they don't seem to fit GW games so well, in my opinion that is!
The first Adeptus Mechanicus dude looks great, I love the gasmask, it reminds me off my Renegade Militia..

Keep it going!

@Malika2, Hehe, crazyness is coming...

@Pfreck, lol, I do have a tendecy of doing that. It definately is a matter of taste though, as I absolutely love the lipped bases, especially for skirmish games Ta.

Will probs become some sort of leadery bloke, planning on some sort of power glaive and lots of little servo things (not neccesarily just skulls) swarming around him. The GS looks a bit rough on the pictures, but not so much irl, I'll sand it a tad when it's cured fully though.

Ta guys, unfortunately the rain continues, so no priming today either :( Some progress on my magos (or whatever) Carved and sanded away almost all of the girl elf hair () and I am thinking of putting loads of wires etc into the back of his skull, some connected to jacks elsewhere, but most just forming some sort of techy flowing hair, but I need to go out and buy some fine guitar wire first. Opinions and ideas very welcome, epsiecially for ways of hammering the Ad-Mechyness home, the glaive type thing etc.

Great choice of model. The tech hair sounds good. Some adepticus symbol/wires/gizmos on the chest might help too.

Tech-Rasta it is! With lots of vents and machinery detail on the chest, and a translucent skin shade that hints of technological structures underneath on the face.

Hopefully the weather gets better soon. Priming days are totally over now in Finland, so it means extra delays as I need to borrow a booth at work (which is busy) or use someone's attic What I am saying is, I can relate! Bloody priming delays.

Thanks migs, that's exactly the kind of feedback I need , the guitar strings are proving difficould to manipulate, I didn't realise there was a wire inside the loop thingie, and it's relly stiff. So far attempts to remove the coiled stuff from the inner wire have been unsuccessfull:(

If you really need coils then I'm not sure what other options there are. If you don't require coils though, I picked up some quality, super thin, copper wire from hobby craft. Got it in the flower arranging section. Big roll of it only cost me about £3 too and its very easy to bend making it ideal for hair etc.

I think for his weapon you should give him the classic admech glaive with half machine cog blade and lots of wiring etc.

Will he be getting a hood over his head or not? Basing his look on Delphan Gruss from the inquisitor range should give you plenty of ideas.

As for priming days, tell me about it! I've had to resort to painted on undercoats. Far from ideal but since my mini's are for display they don't get much wear at all.

Cheers,

Dante
