I wanted a warboss on a bike, but the only warboss I had was the huge guy from AoBR. None of the normal bikes were remotely large enough - they looked like scooters next to the big lad from Black Reach. So, I made this.

It is built with warbike and trukk parts. The gretchin from the nob warbike has been remodelled to be steering the bike, since the warboss wants to leave his hands free for shootin' at da beakies. The front forks are pinned for strength.

The warboss was already primed black when I chopped his legs off, which is why he is, well, black. He is not glued in yet, for ease of painting.

What do you think? Not enough dakka?

That is the gawdiest most wonderful ork monstorsity of a bike I have seen yet.

Very nice work, but since you are teasing with the model pictures you best have painted pictures posted here as well because it looks just fantastic man.

(I don't even want to tell you how you got 3 thumbs up )

Honestly, those Biker legs are WAAAY too small. I'd have converted his existing legs. Nothing a few snips of the xacto, a couple pins and some GS can't fix.
I'd DEFINITELY remove the nub on the bottom of the tire.
I think it's interesting that the Grot's steering. I'd like to see a better image of that. Could be cool.
Honestly (and I'm not saying this IS the case), the Warboss just looks like you didn't want to mess with converting those arms, so did something else.
Overall, I'd say a 5 of 10. Really, that's not bad. A 7 would be really good.

That is all kinds of awesome. I love the grot driver. The legs are tiny, but maybe he has ork polio? Sorry, is it too soon for an FDR joke?

The legs do look out of place on the model. Other than that, it looks great. I think the idea of a grot steering so the warboss can get more killing done is great.

nice bike you got there. But the legs look pretty ridicoulus, you might wanna try what MacickalMemories said.

A 5/10 for only my 2nd (EDIT: 2nd ork) konvershun effort suits me fine, good sir - need to leave some room for improvement!

You (and the others who commented) are right about the legs. They are ridiculously small. I didn't think they would be so daft looking, or I would have tried and converted the warboss' existing legs. As luck would have it I have another AoBR warboss, so I will have at him with the Xacto. The current legs are not glued onto the bike.

The nub on the bottom of the tyre will remain as I will basing the model with the front wheel raised slightly off the ground.

As for not converting the warboss' arms, well the plan always was to have a grot steering the bike, but I would be lying if I said I would be keen to convert the arms. I am not. I think I could do it, but it would take too long and I am more of a bodger than a craftsman. I think I am happy with the result, though.

Thanks again

Sholto

I am going to add an attack squig, but make him out of greenstuff and sit him (it?) on top of the powerklaw.

Dude, that bike looks pretty cool - the top one I like most. The only problem I have with it is the upper body and the legs are out of proportion. Other than that, the bike is pretty huge and shooty and destructive...

Oh no, no, no, no, no...I love the extended look to the front. Gives it a little bit of a SW speeder bike look to it while still keepin' it Orky. And yeah, the Boss himself could use a little work, but I love the bike itself - you've certainly made it worthy of a warboss.

Looks good so far. The only thing I'd change it have the guy steering his own bike. Being a biker myself, I'd never ride on the back of my own motorcycle.

interesting idea with the grot chauffeur - I'm also converting my Black Reach warboss into a biker boss, but am planning on converting the slugga arm to somehow hold some new handlebars.

One reason for all the 'legs too short' comments is the height of the torso - if you shorten that, I think he'll look more in proportion. (What legs are you using, by the way?)

I used the warbiker legs - good point about the torso, btw. I will trim it and see how it looks.

Another option is to up-armour the legs, which should beef them up nicely.

if he's wearing 'eavy armour, then giving him some 'trouser armour' (or even just armoured kneepads?) would both be fluffy and be the easiest way to lengthen and bulk out the legs a little

You could always do away with the Legs altogether, and instead make him a Cybork with a Bike instead of Legs?

the GW fluff talks about Speed Freeks who never leave their bike, so yeah, why not go the whole hog and have his legless body literally welded to the bike as the result of some Painboy/Mek tinkering? Orky cybernetic 'centuar' bikes would look very cool, and actually be pretty easy to model, as surely such cybernetics would remove any need for handlebars at all!

Of course that probably wouldn't be appropriate for this particular model, as the grot chauffeur would no longer make sense if the boss is part of his bike. (Hmm, I suppose the grot could also be a cybernetic part of the bike, but that's pretty weird even for orks...)

Here is what the bike looks like with the AOBR Warboss still wearing his very own legs.

I think he looks perfect and - even better - I can just lift him off and place him on a base to use him as a normal warboss. I stuck magnets in the soles of his feet and magnets in a 40mm base.

I also gave him a combi-scorcha.

I have also a added a close up of the grot driver, as well as the Nob for my squad of Ard Boyz. A mere powerklaw is not 'ard enough for this nob, 'e needs a rekkin' ball The body armour is the front wheel protector from a warbike, and the helmet is a cut up piece from the Defiler sprue.
