I am new to Dakka and I just want to show off my first ever commisioned model
It's not a proper commission as it's only for a £ but it's nice to paint something I wouldn't paint normally.
Enjoy!

Probably good. Shame the piccies aren't helping your pitch! Use the macro mode on a camera, rather than a phone...

If you plan on doing more commissions, you have to learn how to take proper pictures

It might be, but next time be a little smarter with your pictures. Instead of counting on the viewer to click on the link for a larger picture, just crop the original posted picture so that it actually shows the figure. Right now, it's 90% dead space. Once I clicked on the picture twice, I saw a closer pic, but remember first impressions are everything.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but it isn't that great of a paintjob.
He is asking for feedback, and as the model is now, it is tabletop quality, nothing more, nothing less.
I don't think I'd be paying $2 each for these, thats for sure.
Then again it depends on what the commission was for.
Constructive comments?
Tidy everything up. Take more time. Your highlights are very stark and very little transition. Also lay off the ink/washes as in some areas their overuse is very evident (gun, power fist).
Also what do you use as you basecoat layer? It looks like that may contribute to the uneveness of the finished look.
Again, summing up, not trying to be a jerk, trying to constructive, but it seems unless you praise someone for mediocre work these days you're a jerk...
C'est la vie...

Yeah everyone on you about taking pictures, but its something to think about unless you are doing commission locally and showing the mini's live.. But if you want to go online with your work, invest in a good camera that has macro mode. Get a shoe box and line it with white paper, desk lamp lighting the mini, and click away. No flash if possible.
The work is better then most I see. And take the paint comments with a "grain of salt". See if they have work to show if not, disregard. And if you are amazed, ask for tips.
Looks like you did base coat, highlight, wash. If you mixed the base/highlight and made strokes toward the light areas, highlight, then wash.. you would be amazed at the difference.
Good Job though!

um...sorry to burst your bubbles but I didn't use a wash, anywhere........I used gloss varnish on the shoulders. Thankyou Moon Raker8 for the complement, it contributes to my ego very nicely! Is £1 really $2? Wow I did spend two hours on him but I must admit that he is not up to 'eavy metal standards by a longshot. Still amongst some of the best stuff at my club even if that doesn't say much...
