I had a lot of fun putting this tank together for my Order of Heaven's Flame Sisters of Battle Army. Technically, it's the Inquisitor's transport, but I've built it as if it were a proper part of an Adepta Sororita Priory. (And why not? The church has plenty of money to spare.) The first thing to do was to give it Sisters crew, and change the technology style from cybernetically linked turrets to manned (womaned?) turrets. I wanted it to be a chapel first and a warmachine second, so I expanded the interior capacity accordingly, so that it looks like there could be a full chapel inside. This included swapping out the ramp for proper chapel doors. I made the turret wings on the side large for several reasons. I wanted it to look like the capacitors for the lascannons were housed in the wings, not the interior, I wanted the tank to have the footprint of a Crucifex, which is the sacred symbol of the Order of Heaven's Flame for Saint Margareite, who was crucified by the Arch-Warlord Kazini Dax of the Word Bearers, and I needed to make them strong enough to withstand kids picking it up without permission.
I play in a lot of tournaments, so the Organ on the back is largely decorative. I imagine it filling the air with the sweet melody of faith and providing anti-aircraft support or long range artillery fire or any number of other important battlefield functions that 40K ignores the effects of.

It's pretty gaudy (has a lot of stuff on it) but that is intentional. Playing Sisters of Battle means never having to say, "That's a little over-the-top." It's complete except for the clear plastic windows on the three turrets. Those I'm leaving off till later to make it easier to paint the gunners.

Enjoy.

The conversions themselves are clean, and I like the theme overall, but IMO the cruciform silhouette makes the tank too impractically wide... I think you'd have been better off integrating more of the conversion work into the standard Land Raider design... the blunt front and box wings don't fit with the rest of the lines in the design.

you have to many gun mounts on the single tank. I"d say make it able to hold 20 models.

A gun is a medium, a bullet a brush.

The Organ is Decorative. I'm just going to use it as a regular land raider.

I would angle the bottom front of it between the treads to go more in line with the angle of the treads.

This vehicle could not change elevation as it is.

It is however, so gaudy that it is cool.

For weapons, I can see the twin-linked lascannons on the "sponsons," but what are the hull mounted guns? I can't seem to identify them.

I like this idea - including the cruciform shape (I'm not sure how this fits into Imperial symbology, but an "aquilaform" shape would be hard to convey in a tank). I also really like the SoB-style turrets (which will look even better with the glass panels), and the organ (if you were going for something really huge, a choir loft would be a neat addition).

As much as I like the concept, the outrigger gun platforms seem a little too big, and stick out too far from the main body (it looks they're actually drooping a little). On the other hand, I like the way they work with the Land Raider's side doors - they shield exiting troops and allow the turrets to fire without risk of hitting anyone coming or going. If you want them to stick out that far, I'd suggest giving them short track sections of their own (underneath or on the outside). They might also work well if reshaped to ressemble flying buttresses (this would add to the "mobile cathedral" look, and possibly keep them from seeming too bulky).

I have another suggestion, although I'm not sure you'll want to consider such a drastic redesign of the conversion at this point. When you described it as a combination war machine/mobile chapel, I immediatey anticipated at least one steeple on the vehicle. I would strongly advise putting one above the "assault ramp" doorway on the front (topping it off with the turret would be a nice touch). I think the sponsons might work well as shorter steeples too - especially if they where brought in closer to the body and made more vertical than horizontal (retaining the cruciform shape from above, but abbreviating the "arms" somewhat). If left at their current width with towers on top (and preferably some more track sections underneath), this could make for a very intimidating mobile fortress with great ability to fire over obstacles.

So the assault ramp is just...
a door?

That had me laughing. I imagine the sisters casually walking out of the door into the fray. (Keep it!)

The organ looks really good. I wouldn't have gone with the wide outcrops, but the turrets on them look good.

I'm not quite sure what wash-away is talking about. It looks like it has far more room any other land raider I've seen.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I like the theme and it's been done pretty well, my only real issue with it is it's far too square for my liking, mainly this shows up with the bottom of the "wings" for lack of a better word where they seem to go too far down at the outer edges and be too square.

Other than that I do like it and think it makes an interesting centerpiece

It's interesting, and well put together, but I agree with the spleen, it's just too blocky for my tastes.

Unless I'm missing something, if the organ's just decorative, it has exactly the same number of heavy weapons as a regular Land Raider.

It's cleverly done, but the 'sponsons' are far too wide for my tastes.

I love the amount of work done here but I must follow the others when saying the sponsons are too far out. The flying buttress suggestion would be a great fix IMHO.

That is incredible. Very nice work. I very rarely am impressed by conversions which are different bits glued together but this is really something. You win a pack of Morleys.

Im actually a fan. Yes, the door is too far forward so the tank couldnt possible drive over....well anything, he probably wouldnt even get up a hill ...

The conversion work is so clean though and the organ is very well fitted. Good and clean work.

In apocalypse games you could use it as a Land Raider Helios, counting the Exorcist Launcher as a Whirlwind Launcher

I'm definately with the camp of 'put tracks on the sponsons', though - it will look less like its about to collapse under its own weight...

Fantastically over the top, puts my rolling temple Land raider to shame.

My only suggestion is swap the upside down LR lascannons for IG las cannons, I think they'll look better.

Full of win. Those that think it over wrought or OTT are missing the point.

I agree w/KK though, that the upside down lascannons seem a bit off with the gravity defying cable bundles. Minor issue, though.

I like the basic idea, but I agree the sponsons-nearly-the-width-of-the-main-hull and useless door are a bit odd for my tastes.

I like the idea of the big 'church door' but I think it would work better if it was angled (like a basement entrance door, but not as angled) maybe with the idea that an assault ramp is still integrated into the design.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Looks even better than last time! I really dig the lamps everywhere. My only critique is the flatness of the front doors but on the other hand, just imagine breaking through a building with that and then the doors open and holy goodness pours out.

We really shoudl get a match in with your sisters vs my dark sisters sometime. I've got sisters of tzeentch to go with the slaaneshi ones now too!

Very nice over all, I'm just glad I'm not the one that has to paint it I know the Ecclesiarchy is supposed to have huge Chapels on tracks but this is about as close as one could come to having such a thing as a playable piece.

damn dude, that is frickin hot! The ornimentation is awesome and yeah, it might be a bit big but hey, that is your deal whether you want to have a larger footprint that can be shot in exchange for a beautiful model. Personally I would be honored to field such a beauty!

I must respectfully disagree. I was walking through my FLGS's play area a couple weeks ago, mostly just seeing what was up on a quick purchasing stop before beating traffic back home.

There was a person there fielding Sisters in white, hot pink, pastel purple, bright orange, and lime green. On the same model(s). His Exorcist was ... the only word I could find to even begin to describe it is "riotous."

Regardless, that's a neat conversion concept. I think the sponsons are going too far in the boxy/bulky direction in pursuit of your cruciform footprint, and I also agree with above comments that the cathedral doors, while awesome, cause a profile that looks out of place on the nose of the tank.

The detail work is inventively scrounged together and the assembly and modding is impeccably executed, however. And the concept is great. If the Sisters of Battle can't ride a church into battle, then who the hell can?
