As a up-and-coming Overlord in this large galaxy, i looked at my splinter fleet as it slowly grows and though, what self-respecting Overlord doesnt have 1 god fex [and up until now i had no fexs what so ever]. So i went hunting on the net, throught my good friend at underthecouch.com, the-war-lord.com and other sites but i came across a stunning deal on ebay, 2 fexs for $98AUD including postage, i snapped this up faster then a starving ripper swarm. Now while i waited for them to be posted i came up with a few ideas, and look in forge world, i found a picture of a bio-titan in there range and loved the look of the legs.

Now after all that, here is my god fex, he doesnt have all biomorphs as i intend on using him in a up-and-coming torni but has most of them:
And while you are looking at my unpainted god fex, have a look at the colour scheme of my splinter fleet that i will apply to him and the base. C&C welcome and im tossing up whether or not to ad symbiot rippers, any help?

He looks good, I might question the use of Regeneration and The spore back. If you are wounded Regeneration only heals one wound 1/6 of the time. So assuming that you start the game wounded you will only benefit from 1 extra wound in a standard game, For 30pts I think its not worth it. If only because you can buy an extra wound for 15 pts. As for the spore mine back, it gives you a chance to wound yourself making it, also it places the mine in base contact so any fool with a las gun has a chance of wounding your fex by shooting the mine.

I like it. One thing I would change though are the legs. Something that big walking around on spikes like that would push into the ground quite a bit. You might want to try modeling it to look like they are biting into the dirt of the base while he's walking.

I agree with this. Maybe add small mounds of dirt where his claws have displaced it as well.

As for the pose, I like it. It's like fat Albert running up on the battle field "Hey hey hey! I'm gon'a eat'cha!"

I think you could get a little creative with some green stuff since it's just a carnifex without legs but regardless, it is coming out great.

honestly i cant believe so many are knocking your mini. i thikn your fex looks pretty awesome. the idea is really different to. Ive played a few nid armies in my day and ive never seen a fex like that. nice job!

Looks great so far. I did a fex like that too but with venom cannons I made special apocalypse rules for him if you wanna try em out some time..

Have you kicked around the idea of him stepping on some one? could make for a sweet base and really drive home the sharpness of his legs

iv got miself 6 fexs in mi army, an you have just given me an idea for one that im re-modelling atm, i think that you do need to decorate the base with maybe a space marine or a guardsman or something like that to add a bit more detail. one small thing is that where you have replaced the legs with scything talons, you just need to add a bit of green stuff to blend it in more , but gr8 conversion, well done!!!!

First off, Thanx guys for all your comments and ideas!!

Second, in Australia NIB Carnifex's cost $65AUD each and by buying 2 at $98 including postage i have saved myself $32AUD and that 3 Fex pack, costs $150-$160, dont remember.

Onto the topic of my biomorphs, regeneration and Spore cryslist. First off for regeneration, for every wound lost at the start of my turn i roll a D6 and on a 6 regain that wound, so if i have lost 3 wounds i roll 3D6, this increases the life span of my fex and might mean it kills more things and so on. Now onto the Spores, i have added this instead of thornback/spineback for a number of reasons. 1.The thornback is too expensive and doesnt fit my style of play im taking to the up-and-coming torni. 2.Spineback was a waste of points as im not shooting and i already have frag grendes in the form of flesh hooks. 3. Spores allow me to pressure my enemy, let me explain: at the start of each of my turns i can elest the fex to produce a toxin spore, yes 1/6 tmes i will take a wound but thats ok, its all apart of me plan. when im 12" away from an emeny on my turn i will produce one, as i will then move 6" towards the enemy leaving the mine behind and then assault the enemy in the assault phase giving me min 6" of space, between the fex and mine. this then forces my enemy to either spend a whole units firepower on the mine [wow, you guys are tough, you kill a single spore mine ] or risk it running into them.

i have added an ork, modelled it so it looks like hes been half eaten and sqwashed abit. I have added symbiot rippers, 1. for the biomorph, 2. to make it look like they are going to eat him , now the orks making a last ditch effort to kill the fex "You took me legz n' a hand, now i take ya gutz".

the black wire thing coming out of the orks gutz stuff is bone and will be painted accordingly.

very nice. i did a fair bit of similar themed stuff with chaos spawn a while back.

it looks lovely, very 'bursting-out-to-consume-your-soul-from-the-void-of-the-warp' like, my only gripe would be the sorta spindly looking legs, i mean it doesent seem as though they'd be able to support that much win.

Hes comming along nicely, although he looks a little condensed. Kind of like you are trying to keep this hulking monstrosity contained in a tiny space. (I imagine this is to balance it so it does not fall. You might try drilling in to the back talons and running some stiff wire into his "legs " and then weighting the base with large metal washers. That way you can move his front "legs" forward and up so he looks like he is leaping onto new prey. Keep up the good work!

Do spore mines net your opponent kill points if they detonate them?

I like the partly digested ork on the base.

I have never seen any nid player run a list that made use of spore mines- It may be because the only nid lists run by me are uninformed or ubershooty zilla nid lists- Id be intrested in knowing how they work out for you. BTW, why fleshhooks? arent you I1 anyway?

Did a similar thing that involved eight pairs of scything talons (plus extra) ofcourse not all in the rules ( as you can't have that many weapon choices) if you'd like i can post a pic? keep up the good work and don't forget toxic miasma, really fun watching marines hitting on 4-5+, lol

Very nice, it really looks like he is charging over a battleground.

I like this conversion, makes a change to the normal posed fex (of which I am guilty as charged). Specially liking the Ork blasting away at its underbelly even though he's been chopped in two.

I don't like it... the pointy legs just make the thing seem like an awkward crab creature. The pose doesn't look dynamic, as all 4 legs are just sitting there on the ground, and I guess you could argue its pooping or about to attack something in front of it... but, I generally find people's idea of "what is dynamic" to be totally off vs. my taste. I think it'd get tired from wrenching its spikey legs out of the ground.

Personally I like the what you have done with the piece so far....It's very spider-like and for all it's bulk I could imagine this thing skittering forward very quickly and nimbly to catch unwary prey...much like a real spider.

I think the model would benefit from losing the ork in the middle and maybe have a full Ork skewered by one of the legs...Starship Troopers style.
