Howdy all. Now normally I'd write this into an article however because I lack the skills to do so through the article system, I'm going to instead post it here and hope someone who knows how to convert it to the article system will do so for me. (Giving me credit I hope)

How to make Marker Drones using just bits from the Crisis Suit Box

Parts needed

1 Gun Drone Sprue
1 Multi-Tracker from the Crisis Suit Sprue
1 Target Lock from the Crisis Suit Sprue
Testors plastic cement (The kind that melts the parts together)

Tools Needed

Model Clippers of some type
Modeling Files

First clip all the parts loose from their respective sprue's and use the files to clean off all molding lines.
Next take the Target Lock and clip off the small nub on the under side designed to fit into the recesses of the Crisis suit. (See Picture)
Using a file, smooth out the bottom edge of the target lock where you clipped off the nub.
Clip the Antenna off of the Multi-Tracker. The roundish bit with all the little nubs can be returned to the bits box for use with future conversions.
Clip off a small corner of the end of the multi-tracker antenna and file the area flat. This will be the new antenna for your marker drone.
Attach the gun mount to a flying base or some similar stem to allow you to move it without actually handling it.
Using a small dab of glue, attach the ORIGINAL gun drone antenna (The one that came on the gun drone sprue) to the spot that you would've put the gun on.
Using another small dab of glue, attach the Target Lock to right side, roughly in the middle. Be careful to make sure the antenna and target lock are facing the same direction.
Attach the upper portion of the drone as normal.
Place the new antenna you've cut on top of the drone in the same place where the normal antenna would be.
Wait for the glue to dry, and presto! You have Marker Drones.

The Target lock is on the right, you can see it still has the small nub attached

I have to say that I actually like your Marker Drone better than the official one.

Nice job.

I'd like to figgure out a way to make the antenna a little more impressive like the "official" ones are. Other than that I like mine better too.

Thanks everyone. I'm working roughly on an idea for shield drones as well, but it's taking a little longer because of a lack of fresh gun drone sprues.

I saw a great Shield drone idea that enclosed the drone in a clear plastic bubble like a Gatchapon toy capsule.

Interesting concept there. I may run with it a bit. Any suggestions on how to encase the model in the bubble without a bunch of lines?

It wasn't my idea and I haven't tried it, but I thought it looked neat. From memory, the person had taken the kind of clear plastic globe that gatchapon toys come in and drilled a hole in the base so the flight stand could poke through. Then he built the drone into the middle, and put the top half on.

If you wanted to fancy this up, a disc of clear plastic with field effect lines could be attached in the middle of the globe, stretching out from the shield module on the drone's base.

I will try to do a sketch later on.

I've got a rough idea going now, just need to find some kind of plastic sphere in about the right size. I'm planning on painting the bubble a little (You'll see what I have in mind when I'm done) so that will cover the cutting line that I make in order to insert the drone. I still however need a clear plastic sphere of some type. Preferably one that can be very clearly seen through, so as to show off the paint on the drone it's self. Open to suggestions.

When I googled "Clear Plastic Ball" this came up. I'm sure you'd have no problem finding a sphere that would better suit your needs.
