I agree with @krazynadechukr on this, I expect them to be replaced later on. Also the rumors say new fire warriors will be set of 10, but I wouldn't be surprised if the new heads we've seen are for the 'breacher' variant and the FWs will keep their old look, but just get new weapons and a fresh sculpt (I hope, the old one is so messy).

BTW, Farsight Enclave is shown on GW but adding to cart prompts "Item no longer available" and link is dead...

Also, white minis show new boxing, orange show old boxing, so chances are good many things will have new models!

Im not sure why the Riptide isnt repainted. Theres already boxes in my FLGS with the white riptide model. I thought it was odd that they reboxed it and nothing changed (this was about a month ago when i noticed the box was different)

Keep an eye out for the campaign books. The odd "Decurion" or two may appear there.

Nah, Farsight will just get a rerelease in a couple months for the same overpriced value and includes any new toys the normal dex has, one or two new but not useful wargear, maybe a formation.

Oh, dont forget an IC Stormsurge + Ghostkeel if Farsight is your warlord! The Eight is now The Ten! .... so much less cool sounding...

That would be a good thing. Just as the Eldar Codex covers the bulk of an Iyanden force, so too should the new Tau Codex cover what used to be Farsight. One book, rather than 2 would be simpler and easier to work with. Cheaper, too.

It'll be a shame if the 35+ pages of fluff devoted purely to Farsight goes away. That was a fantastic read and one of my favorite Codex/Supplements to date.

You can still read it if you own the book - that's why I still keep my old 2E Codices.

It's just that the rules should integrate into the main book..

Or it could be as simple as them waiting for the new crisis suits to put into that offer &/or the new (?) fire warriors &/or new (?) commander crisis suit..... That'd be nice....

Fire Warriors' replacements next week, I think.

You know GW don't come and prize outdated books from your hands right? you still get to read the fluff (if they rewrote it it would either be 99% the same, or much worse) and hopefully only have to buy 1 book to get the equivalent rules.

That actually brings up a good question: if something is out of print, can you still download it from GW? Such as the digital copies of the FSE? I've never bought anything from digital from GW.

Well, that is pretty definitively the fire warriors. Were does that come from? I thought the hint was about the Damocles gulf.

I wonder if we will be seeing a campaign box during the Tau release. Space Marines(probably composed of shelf-warming kits) v. Tau(hard to say what would be in here since Fire Warriors are getting a new kit, so no shelf-warming Troops). Of course, if they did that, the rumoured Horus Heresy stuff would be competing for space. So my guess is probably not to the boxed set. Besides, the boxed sets seem to coincide with Space Marine releases (Stormclaw=Space Wolves, Deathstorm=Blood Angels).

...I bet Breachers have absurd grimdark fluff like "These are the dudes that take people from their homes, brainwash em, and put them into Battlesuits unwillingly."

Nah so far none of the Tau fluff has been so grim dark as that. My bet is they're volunteers like pathfinders but they choose a much more dangerous close combat ish role. I suspect they have jetpacks and some sort of pulse shotgun.

There's quite a bit of grimdark under the surface (What happened to the first Tau ally race, Vespid mind control, Ethereals making Tau kill themselves, ect.)

I'd like to see another Campaign pack - really enjoyed previous ones Especially if they follow the two book format.

Especially when compared to what passes for Codexes these days - got the lovely new Mechanicum Red Book form FW and when you look at that compared to a modern Codex..........

Also its interesting that Shadowsun's normal Ethereal commander is increasingly portrayed as a self serving, arrogant SOB that makes foolish errors in conflicts - much like some Imperial notables...........
