I've looked at the Photo's in the UK's white dwarf for a while now and...how did he make it? The turret bits are obviously from the Battlewagon kit, and the Kannon itself is probably an old pipe, but what about the tractor units? are they all built from scratch? any suggestions?

There was a mega baneblade vs skullhamma battle too, and a grey knight titan battle, and an airfield bash.
Pity I didn't have time to do any of them

The chassis is most certainly two 1/24 scale "Dragon Wagons" (a US tank transport from WW2) attached end to end...

It appears that he took the cabs off the original models and re-purposed them into the two large turrets up front and back...

The track units are from either 1/24 or 1/35 tanks, maybe a Tiger or Abrams....

The tracks look more like an M-48 or M-60

Not to mention that the Battlewagon tracks are about 1/4 the size of those massive ones!

If I've learned anything from this thread its that there are other military models out there that aren't GW and they're worth looking into!

Thanks guys for attempting answers at a question only mr grayson can truly answer!

The aforementioned diorama was awesome, my favourite two bits were the dwarf fisherman who 'hooked' a greenskin sub, and the slayer leaping off a roof into the ranks of disembarking Orcs!

Do you think that they'd be that big? I doubt it!

I reckon it was the tracks off some tank in a bigger scale than 40K. Whats really impressive are the details on the track links. Even though they're quite uniform they still look pretty orky!

It is such a beast of a model. It'd be great to play it in a proper game of APOC against titans and waves of thunderbolts. How many litres of paint did it take to give it all coverage?

When I saw it at Games Day I wasn't that impressed. Sure it is huge, but it lacks the amount of detail making it really Orky.
