This. The GW board was out for several months before the SWM one was, so I'm sure that no small amount of people who might have bought a SWM already bought a Realm of Skulls board in the interim - and most people aren't going to buy 2 or 3 different urban boards...

You have NO idea how much me and my gaming crew have thought this same thing. The skulls just don't do it for us. We covered them up with water and made it a marsh.

Sure. I'm the same. Do you think we're the majority, though? 'cause we're not.

I carved out some of the Tablescapes tiles for conversions and there were skulls in the plastic!

Justin is great at communication. Send him something, and he'll get back to you.

He didn't yet, but since it was Adepticon, I'm willing to cut him a few weeks' slack.

Cuz I'm chill like that.

Ok. I can't. Intentionally trying to sound cool and hip like that is just not me. *sigh*

I'm still waiting on mine too - I forget when the last update was that said it could be 10-15 weeks before they got them all shipped out. But I remember thinking "geesh that'll be like late March."

So I'm being patient, but might contact them if mid-April rolls around and I still haven't heard anything.

Maybe sales from AdeptiCon will let them get the last ones shipped, it is a bummer to be selling them before sending to those who have already paid.

I did get to meet Justin at AdeptiCon, which was really cool

As if by magic - my board arrived today!

I never got a shipping notice or anything. So people still waiting - your goodies might be closer than you think.

I wish I had known that shipping was an issue, I would have paid extra to have my KS boards shipped along with the boards I added later. As it is I've had half the table for about 5 months and still waiting on the original boards.

Mr Justin responded to me. It was straight and to the point. I like it. Hasn't shipped yet, but at least someone else doesn't have their grubby hands on my board.

Dude, with all due respect, children are starving in Africa.

I'm ok with waiting. I've been going full steam on my other projects. Do you know how long it takes to assemble and convert 100 conscripts? Let alone paint the buggers?

But to piss off my WAAC friend, it is priceless.

Is Adepticon finished yet? I'm hoping that Justin can get the last of the backer sets done and out the door so he can start making actual money off these. He (and by extension, we) sure got fethed over by WGF.

Yeah, it ended last Sunday.

From what I understand there is still a few more weeks of shipping to go.

Update #169

Apr 9 2015
It's a shipping update!

Things have been crazy at Secret Weapon HQ, but I do have a shipping update for you!

Orders remaining:

Domestic 137

International 28

Canada 76

We're making progress every week, with another 22 domestic and 7 Canadian orders today. I know we shipped two to Singapore last week, and other international orders have obviously been moving.

At this point any backer in AUS/NZ or EU/UK should have everything except for their walls. I know there are a couple of you in both regions still holding for an update -- and we'll keep on that via email.

I am still very much hoping to be finished with all backer shipping by the end of May. Everything is focused on that at this point.

As a couple of people have asked, I also want to clarify a couple of points on what happens when a backer helps with the cost of shipping:

1) Your order ships immediately with the next round of weekly pledges

2) This does not impact the other orders in any way, shape, or form. If we were going to ship 22 orders this week, and 2 people pay for shipping, then we ship 24 orders. Easy peasy!

Also, what about those walls?

The crew has been shipping the Rolling Fields wall sets, and I'll be in the warehouse over the next couple of weeks to help get the other themes out the door. We've shipped a few of the others, but the production process on these is INCREDIBLY slow, and we're working to correct that. Giant molds are giant though, and there's only so much room in our big tanks.

That's really that at this point. We're almost finished. Finally.

So what if you're the last backer to ship? Oh, there will be goodies, and a celebration. True story.

More news when I have it, and as always my thanks go out to everyone involved in this campaign. I have really loved seeing photos of painted sets, and it was great being able to talk to so many of you at Adepticon. Thank you so much!

And now, back to it...

I like that Canada is not domestic (clearly not) but is not international either.

So I got my boards last night. Urban Street. The clips fit very snugly, it's very thin so I can pad it with foam layers once I am done painting. I'm just a tad disappointed that on quite a few, I can see the injection point has caved in a bit, and the circle pattern is present on some.

Is it nice? Yes, I hope I can camouflage some of it with paint, and at least it's not covered in skulls.

Update #170

Apr 25 2015
The End Is Nigh

Here we are, nearing the end of our journey. Finally.

Word from the shop is that the pile of outgoing orders is now a wee, tiny little thing. I'll have an exact update when I get back from ReaperCon in a couple of weeks -- but I didn't want to leave you all without word for that long.

AUS/NZ/UK/EU - Border/Frame?

If you are in AUS/NZ/UK/EU and have NOT received your border/frame set, please contact me. At this point everything in those regions should be done...

EXCEPT FOR THE WALLS

The wall sets are leaving from California, and the crew is still working to get those produced. We're shipping them as quickly as we can make them, and they're usually still warm when they get packed. True story.

USA/CAN/OTHER

We're down to the last few orders, and still shipping every week. Orders waiting on walls, or border/frame sets are still shipping as well. The crew has been focused on tile sets though, and we'll crank out any of the other goodies in a rush once the last big box ships. If you have walls, or a border/frame set, AND you're waiting on tiles then it SHOULD all ship together.

Thank you again!

This has been an... adventure. Truly. Thank you all again for your support, patience, and enthusiasm. I can't tell you how happy I am to have had your help in making the product a reality. I'll place a new retail stock order in June, and the Tablescapes Tiles will officially be on the market in a big way. I couldn't have done it without you.

Today, however, I need to get back to sculpting for all of those new base sizes, and start packing for ReaperCon. If you're going to be in Texas for the show, please say hello.

Happy hobbying,

Justin 'misterjustin' McCoy

I think this Kickstarter should be a case study on why you should not offer free shipping. Especially large, heavy objects. ESPECIALLY internationally.

No there was no shipping charge for any backers no matter where they lived the pledge level cost all we paid. The only exception was when they ran out of funds to ship and offered backers the option to pay the shipping cost so their stuff got shipped straight away but this was always an optional fee shipping was no extra if you were prepared to wait.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hoping someone who has one of the Tablescape tile sets can answer a quick query of mine.

In terms of how the tiles clip together on the back, how solid is this connection?

Specifically, do they hold together under their own weight? I was hoping to put the table on top of a table that's about 4'x4', so you would have about a 1ft overhang on either side. Is this feasible?

Also, what are peoples general feelings on the overall quality of the board? Was thinking of getting the 'damaged urban streets' one.

It's pretty solid but I certainly don't think they're strong enough to overhang by the length of a whole tile. They'll probably overhang by about half a tile comfortably but overhanging right from the join is just asking for trouble. I haven't properly tested this but the engineer in me says it needs support

As to quality, they're fantastic. Of the ones I have (damaged streets, clean streets and rolling fields) the damaged streets are the most detailed and the detail is brilliant; but I prefer the clean streets, as I think sometimes the rubble/damage makes the other ones difficult to place models/terrain on.

Rolling Fields I think are my favourite overall for the sake of flexibility, as they're much more scale-neutral.

I have that one, they are absolutely brilliant. I was tossing up between that and the RoB from GW, but while the perfectly fitting buildings is handy, I really hate the over the top stupid grimdark parts of theirs. The SWM boards are really good, hopefully I have them painted this millennium

I got my display frame in finally, and it's definitely not worth the wait. It feels pretty flimsy and I won't be comfortable walking around a tournament with it. Has anyone made a stable way to use it or built their own frame?

Preaching for (not to) my own choir, but a masonite square with a nice wooden frame (moulding) that you finish yourself would probably look nice.

Of course that would be ideal, but I got this as something that can travel well in checked luggage.
