I'll get the stormlord/shadowsword tommorrow ( saturday 28 Feb.) and had a first look on the sprues in another thread.

Since my plan includes the new plastic kit in the existing super-heavy company ( i will built several of them),
and i dislike the "sturmgeschütz" design at non-artillery Tanks, my actual idea was to change the stormlord.

The needed changes:
- move main gun "VMB" into a real turret,
- add a ramp to ensure everything allowed to be transported can embark/disembark




My question is: How will YOU build your new plastic SHT?

- out of the box?
- conversion?
- not building one of the six variants, but using the plastic kit for conversion?

I'm hoping to convert it into a battle fortress for da orks.

Definately going with shadowsword for mine. It just seems right for the DKOK that it will be supporting.

I´m going to convert it, giving it targeters instead of lascannons. Also, it may get a second set of sponsons, not sure yet...

Really looking forward to modeling and painting this awesome model.

Are the stats for the tanks out? I might get one of these instead of the stompa, it can probably be used as a chaos tank.

Nope, can´t see them on the website, even though WD says they should be there... :S

I'll be picking up two, one to be a Stormlord, one to be a Shadowsword. Maybe I'll pick up another one down the road to make one of the other variants, just depends on their rules.

Mine will be a Stormlord, painted red and brass and full of Khorne Berzerkers.

Looking forward to see some of those models.

3 Of each so I can increase my super heavy count still need 4 baneblades one for a tower of skulls and the rest for a company muhahahahah.

I've got a quad-sponson conversion in mind, along with a fire support version. Just need to figure out the rules I want to field as.

Stormlord. Last year I was very close to ordering the Macharious Pattern Baneblade, which I believe is the fore-runner of the the Stormlord.

Presuming the main difference between the various versions is the big gun, I presume an awful lot of people are going to magnetise the gun and mounting so the vehicle can be swapped between any of the versions?

Seems easy to have all gun variants. Its a basic mount + the additional bitz.

1) basic mount
2) basic mount + 1st muzzle/part of the barrel = Banehammer
3) basic mount + 1st muzzle/part of the barrel + siege cannon muzzle = Stormsword
4) basic mount + 1st muzzle/part of the barrel + long barrel = Banesword
5) basic mount + 1st muzzle/part of the barrel + long barrel + VC muzzle = Shadowsword
6) basic mount + 1st muzzle/part of the barrel + VC muzzle = Doomhammer

All of those bitz hold together without glue, so some magnets will work witout a doubt.

Yeah, weapon swaps should be easy enouhg, however, there are at least two different configurations for the upper hull "turret", bits.
Looks like three, not sure as I have not yet received mine, but even so, you´d need to have quite a few bits magnetised for this, it seems.

It looks to me as if the Shadowsword, Stormsword and Banesword will work with simple weapon swaps.

And so will the Banehammer and Dommhammer.

But the stormlord has it´s own configuration it seems.

So unless you want the entire upper hull to be magnetised, it would seem that we have to limit ourselves at least to three weapon choices.

Ooh, and I soooo want to have four sponsons on mine.

yep, stormlord is absolute different and the others may need a "movable" upper hull section.

Nice find is also that the front HB can be mounted right or left (maybe 2 of them?) but still needs to be included in the datasheet.

2 heavy stubbers are included, but i think they have to be bought as IG vehicle options.

I'm probably not gonna put sponsons on mine, but I'll try to give it 2 main cannons, one on turret and the other one replacing hull HB. I wonder if the long barrel can be assembled on the forward mount without tipping it over?

I'll use it as base for the superheavy Nurgle tank I'v always wanted to build.
The transport section on the Stormlord will be the vat of goo for the slime cannon.

Stormlord, for the Imperial Coast Guard, big Kedge Anchor on the front deck, portholes, railings, ratlines, life rings, or a pair of liferafts if I can get em..

And it'd be named the "Aquilla"

I'm getting two to start with - both will be Stormlords.

I may get one more later, as a Shadowsword.
