Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

With Zak Snyder as the director, my expectations are low.

Forever alone

I' saw it yesterday. It's so much more realistic than other movies. They don't cut down on the GRIMDARK or the violence.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I have to say, I'm quite pleased with the movie. It was not brilliant, but it works very well the way it is.
Spoiler:
The new ending didn't bother me at all. Sure, I would've liked to see the giant Squid too, but the Manhatten frame-up works just as well.

I thing both Silk Specter 1 and Ozymanias could've used a bit more backstory but besides that I'm glad that Snyder managed to put the story on the big screen so well.
Sure, the Graphic Novel has a lot more "layers" but the movie works just fine like that.

So Grimdark is more realistic than Romantic or HappyWorld? It's just as silly.

To be fair, it is set in 1985 NYC - pretty grimdark back then.

I read somewhere (maybe even here) that Dave Gibbons commented that Watchmen the comic was about comic superheroes and that Watchment the movie is more about movie superheroes than comic superheroes.

Of course it won't translate exactly. That doesn't mean it won't be a good movie. It also doesn't mean that I won't be disappointed by it. I'd like to go see it though, might even this weekend (but I might need to spend my free time building Tau for Adepticon).

I was very disappointed. they had a rape scene and took out the Giant tentatcle squid. It was supposed to be a tentatcle Hentai right???

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

Well, there was a rape scene in the comic. I'm sad that they got rid of the squid.

Well I saw this today. I'm a huge fan of the comic and as far as I'm concerned its about as faithful as is humanly possible given the different mediums.

It's almost 3 hours long and yet I didn't suffer from bum numbness once. In fact I was grinning for most of the film. A definite 9/10 from me.

Of course I speak as someone familiar with the plot. It would be interesting to hear what the layman thinks of it.

Oh and if you do go and see it, don't be late. As bizarre as this sounds the introductory credits are amongst the films highlights. It sets everything up so perfectly. I almost gave them a round of applause, I kid you not!
