Well, it happened again ........ got spare GS and i was bored, so dug out an old metal giant and started slapping GS on it to bulk it out (wasnt sure what i was doing at that time)
then had the idea to make it a GUO, so out came more GS and more work, only just started so far and all ive done is 1 leg (without the detail, that will be at the end)

so here it is so far:

Wow...this is going to kick ass, good job so far! I hope you will make him look different from the typical fat GUO who kind of drags his ass on the ground to move foreward!

im not planning to make him super lardass style, thats why i decided to build my own one, well, that and i had nothing better to do.



also, just a note here, please dont expect anything amazing
this will be my 2nd sculpt from GS (with a base model for bulk)
the 1st was gak lol (was a nurgle daemon prince)

a small update, got the other leg and waist done now, time to start on the body.

Looking great so far.

I'd ditch the loincloth if I were you. It's only gonna hide more detail, and I'm sure pappy Nurgle isn't shy about his withered genitals on display. Aside from that; looking good. The face is make or break in most cases, so I'll look forward to that. And the painting, of course. All that detail is a wet dream for a Citadel wash.

ive removed both tabards, ill add em again later if needed, they just didnt look right.
once its dry ill get more done.

So, when are you going to post something new about that GUO?? The legs themself looked amazing and I want to see that thing completed and painted dammit!!

thanks muffin, my 1st sculpt was gak, but just to keep people amused, here it is (still unpainted and sat on the shelf)













as you can see, it looks like gak, this time around ive learned a few new tricks, and funnily enough, i dont have any of my sculpting tools with me, so its all been done using just a razor blade so far.

I love the flesh stretched across one of the eyes. Do you have any interest in painting it up?

to be honest, i cant be bothered to paint the thing, all ive done was coat it, then give it around 4-5 inks and 10-12 drybrushes / highlights, so its nowhere near finished, ill possibly get it done later in time, but just want to focus on the big guy for now.

however, that thing was my 1st sculpt (this one thats WIP being my 2nd) so i wasnt hoping for much when i started lol.

usually i start something then never finish it.

Heres how far im at to date.
the stomach and back have had the 1st skins on them, they will get another one later on to shape them, then a fine detail layer to finish them.

muffin, i just picked up some GS and had a play about with it, after my 1st sculpt i just learned what tricks work and what ones to avoid.
still need to pick up some sculpting tools though as a razor blade is possibly not the best tool in the world to be using, but its the only thing i can make much use of.

UPDATES: sorry about me being a lazy bastard and not getting much done, had alot to do recently.
managed to get the mid area done tonight, and ill get the chest and back finished by tomorrow and get some new pics up since i havent updated this in a while.

why i do say, seems as though your daemon has already had a little filthy explosion on its chest. anyway, very awesome looking so far. keep up the gross work

Finally got some updates done, managed to finish most of the body now, next will be the shoulders and the chest area (and possibly the neck)
working on ideas for weapons and arm pose still, but decided i had to post some updated pics since i was taking far too long.
also been adding random bits to it, mainly tubes from a hole in the skin, running into another one.

Weapon ideas: 1 weapon will be a sword, not sure what kind yet, but possibly going for something like the iron giant from FF XIII.
2nd weapons will possibly be a mace or a flail of some sorts, allthough i have no chain at the moment, so might avoid that one.
other idea was a giant club like hand, chunks of bone pushing out through the skin with the odd sharp piece of bone.

any ideas for weapons would be more than welcome, as allways, C&C wanted

What about a big manky slimey scythe? Thoughe the mutated club hand sounds fantastic.

the scythe sounds like a good idea, and im somewhat annoyed i never thought of it
what do you think would work better, 1 handed or 2 handed?
might get some concept pics drawn up of weapon options and see where that takes me.

only thing im worried about is painting the thing, not sure if i can paint it to any standard since nurgle colours are hardly my strong point (i still drybrush far too much rather than wash / ink)

You could have it as two handed, and have one of the hands kind of growing around the handle, scabbing onto the wood, and the other hand holding it from the upper handle to swing it.

I don't really know haha, just trying to think of something equally nasty to go with how horrid the body is so far.

I think you will be fine with the paint, you can get great effects with nurgle creatures using mostly just inks and washes and a bit of drybrushing. The amount of texture on this guy will make him look great regardless.

may go for the classic style nurgle scythe then, make it 2 handed, im sure i can make it more nurgly somehow, just play about with some GS and see what i can come up with

with any luck the amount of texture on the thing wont make painting it a pain in the ass

i may even let a friend paint it since he is better than me. (he currently has a 12k death guard army, backed up by a 8k nurgle daemon army)
so he has some experience at this kind of thing lol
