this is going to start as a wip blog about some boyz i need to paint up fer a apocolypse thing but i'll probably end up posting more than that

I'm going to start by posting the before priming pics
hopefully i will be able to prime tommorow if the rain stops

i kitbashed warhammer orcs, and 40k orcs for some slugga/shoota boyz.
I'm actually looking for some tips for painting/basing/whatever else

umm more production this is how i plan to paint the orks umm tips are appreciated on better ways to paint/base/etc.

Base to base will be a complete pain the arse.

ya ill probably break em down(the wood)...since half the bases i used were warhammer baces i had to buy the round bases, but round bases have the notch in the middle

no not all round bases have notches. In fact I havnt got a notched base in a long time. They still have the "cut out" so you can MAKE them notched. Anywho, I forgot to say nice work so far

i bought the bag of 25mm bases there all notched ><

Last one at a time sort of thing. I'll start doing 2 or 3 and build some more after this painting/basing commentary gladly appreciated

Well the notches kind of such, but hey you went around it rather nicely lol. And that new Ork is looking good. Nice colors there

The fast way to deal with the slotted bases is to put paper tape over the slot before you put on the fig.

Ya thats what the guy at gw said then but by then I felt the need to do a "decorative" base. But, if i put tape on the slotted base does the base stay at a constant level or uneven?

When you put on the tape make the tape longer than the base stick it down holding both sides tightly when you base the glue and what ever you base with sand or small rocks ect will reinforce the tape.

Got some new bases painted up and im wondering what people's opinions are
there are like 4 choices the blue one(prolly pop on some sno) the brown one(add rocks) the red one(maby some crystals)
and the black one

i have a tank i converted from a WWII kit(not well)
so once my camera starts workin it'll be up there

hey the new bases i was planning on using for making some flash gitz of some kind
anyone got some ideas for the gunz i was thinking pirate hats and fur capes mostly for the
bodies

o and i still need more votes for the base type

Or you could buy the Nobz box kit. Flash Gitz ARE nobz with big ass guns. The kit comes with pretty impressive guns already. Just assemble them that way, and add more gun barrels and the like, wrap them together with some thin cord and presto! Flash Gitz

There's nothin' wrong w/ 'urple! In fact... Mine will be purple. Purple and Bleached Bone. Purple to the level of the Sould Drinkers covers on the novels.

I always base my figs after they're painted and glued down. Gluing a fig to a rocky base kinda sucks. Even if you get it to look right the rocks tend to come unglued later and the figs fall off their bases. BTW, I like the black. As for covering gaps in the bases, I've found that if you lay the glue down thick enough that the gaps get filled nicely.

i dont know what it is ... their good , but not perfect in some way ...

Try giving their flesh a wash of Thraka green and maybe use thinner layers too keep the details on better ?

Tip : If you are gonna use a SM devastor squad , i fear thats gonna take a LOT of green stuff

For the flash gitz look in the ork codex theres one on the conversions page

meh im not realy into the flash git in the warhammer codex

i looked at the kaptin badrukk and thought of him as like a space pirate
so i went up took a boy and thought it would be funny i there was a lil pirate
boy with a huge gun lol so i just went for it he's just a proto-type that i might use
if he gets painted well enough...
i do really like the gun though nice and big while the boy is nice and small
