I am getting close to completing a dreadnought I am working on, but I am unsure about the red on the figure. I would love to get some input. Should I brighten the red a bit more, or leave it as is. Of course any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Looks good, but the base needs some work.

Some pva glue (like elmer's) and some potting soil or fine sand from the gutter, followed by a coat of your paint, will make that base look better. Aside from that, Great job! You did an especially good job at getting those eyes looking neat.

Oh, the base isn't finished yet. I just painted it brown so I wasn't looking at a base coated base. I am going to do a bunch with the base. I agree it is not done yet. I just wasn't sure if the red on the heraldry was bright enough. It is hard to see, but I have modeled some rocks that I will paint, then I will lay down some grass and rock. I also have some longer grass that I will cut to different lengths that I will add for a grass tuft effect. I hope it will look good.

I'd go with a more vibrant red on the heraldry, lascannon barrels and lascannon arm.

Nice so far! I think the red is good. I'd take the red off the barrel unless you are really stuck on the idea. It would bring more attention to the shoulder's white and red.

Like said above by sonofruss, the feet are correct. He just spun the torso 180 so we could see the back.

Huh, I didn't see that the torso was pose-able before. Nice.

LOL...I magnetized the joint at the waist. If you notice in all three shots, the top of the body is rotating, but the bottom isn't. But thank you for letting me know. I might have started crying had I put the legs on backwards.

EDIT: Here are a couple pics of the magnet setup I have on this figure.

Thanks for all the advice.

Nice magnet setup- Did you have to dremel out the holes arms where the magnets fit in?

Thanks.

No, I only used the dremel on the torso magnet. I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough strength if I used the smaller magnets. So the magnet in the legs is 3/16" x 1/2". The magnets I used for the arms are 3/16" x 1/16". Before I put the magnets on, I test fitted all the pieces. I noticed that the arm was touching the body, and I wanted a little clearance. I removed the width of 1 1/2 of the magnets from the arm peg so the arm would sit correctly. I had previously measured the width of the hole and peg, so the magnet was a perfect fit. I just super glued the magnet into the hole of the arm, and to the arm peg. It works really well. If anyone is looking for a great magnet site, Amazing Magnets is a good place to go. They had good deals on their stock.
