well, here is my newest army WIP, i have the command squad, the Captain and a Terminator Sergeant finished, i hope you all enjoy, as for the color scheme i used the image off the Soul Drinker's Omnibus for my guide line

Lookin' good so far! But are those trimmings gold? In the book they're described as having bone-coloured accents, don't mean to nit-pick about it.

You doing an entire pre-excommunicatus army or are you going to make some muties?

I can't put my finder on it, but it's missing something. I think that the purple might be too dark, or maybe add some highlights.

Are you just fielding him? Does he proxy for something?

I love SD, and I plan on doing a 750-ish points force of them; really fluffy. Flamers, assault marines (w/out packs, free drop pod) and nothing heavy.

I plan to do the muties though, Graevus rocks.

well the plan is these are survivors from the chapter war, that escaped, so no mutants, but they will stick to the assault style that is Soul Drinker tactics, as for the gold, i used the cover art to the Omnibus, during the many stories, the trim is something of confusion, on the web it says bone/gold, but in the books many times the trim is solid gold, and it is depicted as such in a lot of the art work, as for the dark purple, again look to the Omnibus Marine, i will load an Image to show what i used, as far as the term, it will be the Sgt to a 5 man Squad with a Missile Launcher, the army will be troop heavy, lots of pods,and Melta heavy, haven't worked out much of the fluff to them other than, at the first chapter war, they left in disgust at what had happened to their chapter and where just written off as losses to the rest of the chapter, they will be scout heavy as a good chunk of the battle novices where taken when they left, but beyond that i haven't gotten much else, well in the works at the moment, i have 1 Devastator squad to be made(2 Las Cannons 2 Plasma), i have a Drop Pod, 2 tactical Squads, 2 5 man Sternguard Squads, 2 10 man Scout Squads to strip and repaint, the whole idea of the army is to make them as troop heavy as i can, without using bikes,dreads or tanks, i may let them use speeders in single a squadron, but most of the list will be built towards lighting fast attacks with tac squad lugging melta goodness to give them that up close range fire that seems to be Soul Drinker style, the Sternguard also seem to fit the Soul Drinker Tactics, i have the leader of the group in the works already, using a Brother Captain Stern for him, and so far he will be played as a Vulkan to give those Meltas an extra kick, so basically, the idea is too have my devastators split into 5 man squads with 2 heavy weapons apiece, then have my scouts sneak in and guide the first wave of drop pods down for a cold and fast strike near HQs and Armor, letting the meltas tear the tanks open hopefully by turn 1 or 2, then the sterns come in as the enemy reacts and drop all that Double fire Special issue Ammo onto juicy targets, well this is my way of giving the Soul Drinkers extermely light list a way to fight and stand a good chance, i will right up a list of what i have so far and let you see it

not bad in the least, in truth it was helpful, but alot of the things mentioned are what i planed to use anyway, no heavy tanks, drop pods/assault torpedoes, all my heavy slots will be taken up by Devastator Squads, most elite choices will be Sternguard, but my force does not share the same hero's as the one in the novel, when finished, it will be roughly a reinforced company, maybe totally 150-200 marines, of which at least 40 of which will be scouts, then 15 will be veterans, mostly sternguard and a squad of terminators, 30+ will be tactical marines, 20 for devastators(4 groups of 5, 1 squad of Las cannons, the others will be plasma cannons) and the rest will be made up of Assault Marines and HQs

i will get more pictures up soon, i am almost done with the Chapter Master and the Terminator Squad, just need to get a Missile Launcher on one of them and then do the touch up work

Are you using the metal Sternguard? I hate how they're metal.

I'm doing my vets using the DA vets box. Maybe cloaked SD isn't fluffy, but it's a heck of a lot easier that's for sure.

My Soul Drinkers are all drop podded or thunderhawked.

I havent modeled any mutations although I may create alt versions of the characters post-turn to give me that option.

I only used gold trim to show rank. Standard troops got bone trim.

hey guys, just finished my Terminator Squad and seeing as it has been said that the Secondary color is white i gave it a shot and have to say it looks kind of nice against the dark purple, so the color scheme has changed slightly, HQs, Elites, Sgt and Specialists(like Heavy Weapon users, etc) will have the gold trim while the other will have the white trim well we will see how the next squad comes out soon, till then here are some pics of my 5 man Terminator Squad, hope you all enjoy

well it has been a while since I have updated this, and finally I has some time/motivation to take and post images tonight so here they are. also a note of fluff, the army is Soul Drinkers and Allies, a former Death Watch unit. so I have some Imperial Fists, a Space Wolf(more to come), a Blood Raven(more to come) and a Celestial Lion. hope you all enjoy.
