Well, I'm trying to finish my wave serpent but I think the turret design is just downright awful. Does anybody have an idea for a scratchbuild/conversion for the turret?

You can try searching how people used to make them before the actual kits came out.

1. Use falcon turrents with the same weapon on both sides. I like those myself.
2. Use FW versions
3. Use a converted predator turrent.

Second search what was done in the past.

The forge world turrets are quite nice, try them.

People scratchbuild them using plastic spoons and bits, like this

You could also probably use Eldar support platforms as a base.

The falcon turrets are all right, but I was actually trying to go with something lower profile so the serpent seems sleeker. I don't know if that makes sense to all of you guys, but I guess that's just my aesthetic choice.

Truth be told, I like the FW turrets. They look more in keeping with the style of the rest of the vehicle. However, cash is a bit tight right now and I don't want to spend that kind of money on part of a model I have when I can use the same money for other kits.

@Frazzled, I know you mentioned a converted predator turret... I've actually never seen that before. Do you have an example?

@P4NC4K3, I like that a lot. It lowers the profile and still looks good... do you by any chance have the source for that pic?

@Flinty, support platforms as a base? That's an amazing idea! Especially since I have two squads of guardians that I'm going to play as Dire Avengers (so their weapon platforms are useless anyway! I'll look into it.

I chose to custom my own turret... It involved cutting up some of the original turret, so there's no going back now! I kinda tried to make a lower-profile version of the forgeworld turret. Here goes nothing!

So this is a twin linked bright lance, using the spirit stone as the "gunner". this is just the basic layout I wanna use.


Then I added the base of the original turret... wanted something that swiveled without a problem.
