Hi all -

I have some ideas of what I want to do with this kit ... well, several kits and I was wondering if any of you out there have done anything with yours yet?

Thoughts and pics would be appreciated.

Thanks -

Myrthe

I haven't bought one yet but when I do, I'm going to build something similar to the building shown on GW site (scroll down for piccies).

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

i am working on a massive conversion of several sets of city's of death sprues and some other gw scenery for my lgs.. sadly i dont have any pics as of yet.. just got most of it worked out in sketches and such.. the shrine looks awesome and the width of the walls are 2 sections of wall from the other city kits.. it was one of the first things i checked out when i opened it lol..

@ jullevi - that's cool ... thanks for the link

@ ruff - your project sounds huge and I hope you post some pictures up soon. Even of the sketches.

My idea is to kitbash an Imperial Fortress City Wall together. I want to make it modular to fit either the long or short length of a 4' x 8' table.

I liked the Bastion wall shown in the Planetstrike book but I wanted something taller and more elaborate.

Here's a pic of the components laid side-by-side (4'-1" total width) and a close-up of the Aquila Gate.

I plan to fill in the gothic arches with plasticard and add some gun ports. The Bastion Towers will be capped with the single barrel gun (forget the name) from the kit and the Aquila Towers will have the Quad guns from the Defense Line. I want to make the opening in th Aquila Towers modular for various items (See the 2nd Ed Marine "Statue"?) and weapons like more guns and even a missile rack. Oh, the COD panels at the base of the Aquila Towers will be mostly the "skull arches" to represent the Imperium being "supported" by the death of it's citizens. Also, the back of the Bastion Tower will have the Eagle Door from the COD Sanctum Kit at the base (facing the city) and to the top gun platform to represent the elevator shaft. Other than that, the City Side will duplicate the Outside (after all, sometimes you need to keep things IN as well as OUT ... you never know when the citizens will fall to Chaos !!).

Any C&C is welcome !!

Thanks.

At the Bastion Ends, simple plasticard where I can attach additional panels to lengthen the wall. At the Aquila Towers (which will protrude forward by one COD Panel) I'll stack COD Basilica Panels. On the Return to the big Gate Door, the Base will be a COD Basilica Arched Door for pedestrian Entry. I'll repeat the same on the inside.

I plan to start the assembly ("sniffing glue" as my patient wife calls my hobby activity) this weekend and will post more pics as this moves forward.

BTW, the "Bridge" connecting the Aquila Towers will be centered between the two with balconies facing in both directions (to taunt the attacking hordes or to quell the citizen unrest).
