Well to start Im building this is for my brothers as a gift. He plays gray knights. We play apocaypse semi-often. And he has no superheavy to battle with the rest of our gamming groups supperheavy. So I decided to build a warhound themed towards his army. I've never heard or seen anyone do something like it before So I thought it sounded really cool. I'm still struggling with trying to make it as GK as possible yet still look like a Warhound. ALso I'm still trying to figure out weapons. I'm thinking the infernon cannon flamethrouwer but ignores invo like an incentor or a mega-psycannon (based on vulcan megabolter.) I know the plasma blastgun rocks world, but I'm pictureing some sort of giant halberd for a CCW weapon. What do you think? Any Ideas?

And hear is my start on the torso... I think it's fairly to scale. Its foam core board which I will much latercover with plasticard. So right now its just a rough internal rigging to base off of.

Still not sure want to build the legs from; foam core or something a litter more stronger. I used the foamcore for the torso becouse its really light so I would hopefully have less headaches later with balance.

Well time for more updates. After work I did some work towards the head/cockpit. It does feel like slightly GK. But I also think its maybe a little small. I just used the materials (the cardboard tubes) on hand with as little raw fab as possible. I really don't like working with curves if I can help it. Though they do look good when done. I like it and hate it. I'm also trying to decide how far out it should stick out from the torso. Obviouslly it lacks detials or finish; such as the windows in the eye area. Feed back would be great.

Enjoy,
Carl

This is AWESOME. Keep up the great work!

However, If i may do so, i'd like to suggest making the neck a little bit longer as you would see on the rest of the titans. This way you could make the head a little less "cramped."

Did a little more work today. I'm alittle limited on time due to school. I have 16 semester hours this semester. So this project will progress very slowly for a while. Anyways I agree that the neck needed to be longer. I think I over did it and it might be a hair to long but its not bad by anymeans.

I know it might be late but can you replace the cardboard tubing with pvc pipes or another plastic material?

I find cardboard does not hold paint well and can make the final model look shabby.

Love the idea but don't forget it would be more Inquisition than Grey Knights. GKs probably would not have superheavies any more than other marine chapters would. So don't forget lots of =I=s.

I was planning on covering the cardboard tubes with thin plasta card. The cardboard is more for structure and I can get it free.

WOW, that looks really good. Wish I had seen it before I started. I really like his head I kinda wish I had done mine that way or more simlliar. I might have to do some rethinking. Allthough I do want mine to be orginal.

Actually, the linked Titan's head looks really flimsy and non-titanic in general. I really honestly prefer the structure and shape of your titan so far, it looks both very befitting of a titan and is still shaped very similarly to the FW GK Dreadnought.

Built one of the feet today. No detials added to it yet. My available time for warhammer is kinda limited. But I'm makeing progress. The ball is just a bouncy ball I picked up from walmart I picked up for a quarter and cut it in half. I then spent twenty minutes going through my dad's work room and bits box for any ideas on what to use for the legs. Expecially the conections to the ankle and hip is what I was looking for. I came up with this hose and attachment thing. I like it and it fits perfectly on the joint. and will serve as a solid base to buid the rest of the leg from.

Anyways the pics.

Greetings all. made some more progress on the titan. the head is alot better and the. Made the incernator cannon (or whatever I'm going to call it.) Still need details over most of it. The uper body's fomecore is now covered with plasticard.

I'm holding off on the legs until my brother gets off his lazy bum and gets me a bloodthirster which will be being crushed under one of the titans feet. Once I have I'll build the second foot. Then the legs which will be in fixed postions. I plan have a diarama style battle going on the base between a few gray knights and some bloodletters. It will give me a chance to put a for show display peice actually on the table for once which will be nice.

I'm toying wih the ideas with shoulder pad like armor, see below. What to you think. I'll put heraldery on one and the gray knight symbol on the other.

The pics!!

Sorry, forgot to compress the images just edited it and put them. So what do every one so far think? One thing I'm concerned about is the arm is hanging to low and will interfere with my hip connections. Also I thing the cannonis a hair to long (1/4 to 1/2 inch) I can still change its not fully glued in place yet.

Much better. I like it... the only thing that I dont like is the bionicle/lego type arms... They seem kinda out of place of the entire model imo

SERIOUSLY doing a great job on this thing! The inferno cannon looks great, the head and neck seem to have been extended to more comfortable lengths and the shoulder pads would look more natural if they were bulkier than what appears to be a two single sheets of paper glued together.

the shoulder pad right now is just a temporary piece just for fitting and seeing if I like it. It will be alot thicker and in detail in the end.

Thanks

I agreed that the arm connection needed some more work so spent a little of my labor day on it. Hopefully this is better. I also added details to the nozzle.

that is looking amazing, I play grey knights and I would love to have a GK Titan. I like the SH Incinerator. How about a CCW with the feel of the old GK, a Halberd Styled Titan Sized Nemesis Force Weapon with a Mega-Pyscannon mounted in-place of the "Stormbolters" if you feel what I am Jiving at....

... "feel what I am Jiving at".... what the h*** was I thinking XD

the plan for the right arm is something like a halberd style weapon with a twin-linked psycannon from the FW razorback for the "stormbolter" feel. And yet its going to rock.

So I totally jive. that does sound a little wierd

Thanks

I've just caught up with this blog. It looks superb! You're clearly putting a heck of a lot of effort into this and the extra attention to details will really be worth it in the end. A lot of the scratchbuilt titans on here are often a case of getting the right shape and then painting it, but I'm really impressed with the work you've done. The weapon arm looks great and I love the head you've designed, although for me the 'snout' is a little long, but that's just personal choice.

Keep up the wonderful work!
