I want to add some sisters of battle to my budding IG army to add some flavor and customization but for several reasons (price, metal, and I have gone out of my way to not have to paint faces, and just to be different) I don't want to use the standard SOB models. So after looking at the various armies I decided that I would use Dark Eldar Warriors as my models , so do you have any advice as to how I should modify them to make them look less DE and especially make their guns into something more imperial. Also if anyone has a better model in mind please let me know.

Space Marines?

With a 5+ armor save and a S3 gun, Warriors really aren't equipped the same.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Yeah, I was thinking SM but I figured they would be far to recognizable and would still look like Space Marines and not SOB whereas with a small amount of conversion Warriors would look like something new.

Inquisitional models just have too much decoration and junk to easily make stand-ins. You'll probably spend more time and money doing your stand-ins then just buying the real thing.

Here is the quick, easy and cheap way to convert Dark Eldar into Sisters of Battle:

1)Don't buy Dark Eldar.
2)Buy Sisters of Battle.

In other words...

There is no way to convert them that is cheaper or easier then just buying them.

Sad to say, but if there were an easy way of converting SoB, people would have been doing it for years now. I have to agree with Kettu - it really is cheaper and easier to just buy them.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Hmmm... consider starting with WHFB knights and adding gender-appropriate modifications.

While I agree with the others that a conversion would be tough, were you to figure out a good one you would be a hero.

I mostly wanted to do some sort of conversion because I know I will completely butcher the faces and they'll look hideous. As for using WHFB parts what models would provide me with female heads?

I would definately agree with everyone else here on the 'go buy them point of view.'

Unless you happen to be a genious at greenstuff and conversions, there's pretty well no way to pull off the dark eldar conversion.

As for faces, take some spare heads (i'm sure you must have some lying around) glue them neck-first onto some sprues, and paint them, until you get the desired effect.

Practice, practice, an more practice, my friend, is the only way to do faces.

Trust me on this one.

Yeah I guess I'll just have to buy them and for my guardsmen faces I just used putty on their face to make it look like they had master chief/ODST style visors.

eh I consider myself decent at conversions not that level plus doing twenty of those would kill
I guess I wasn't to clear on how I wanted to perform my Dark Eldar conversion: I was going to remove the spikes from the armor and use SM arms and bolters on them and a few other touches as I saw fit and just describe them as some sort of SOB spec. ops. squad plus a inq. style paint job.

Why not use Eldar models as stand ins...

Dire Avenger Bodies for sisters
If you want seraphin, see if you can find some wings, or order the Elysian drop troop back packs from Forgeworld.

Or you could do what I did for my sisters army....
I made mine Warrior Monks. I used Scout Bodies and Bolters, and threw in some bald heads from empire flagellants, catachan bandana heads, and cadian helmeted heads. For my seraphin I put FW Elysian backpacks and Cadian heavy weapons heads on them (the one with sunglasses). After using the Warstore and Apocabitznow, it didn't cost anywhere near a sisters army.
All in all I have 3 squads of sisters, 1 squad of Celestians, 1 Seraphin Unit, 4 Rhinos and 3 Excorcists (using space marine whirlwinds).

I think you could do pretty well cutting away the spikes, using empire knight heads (the helmeted ones that resemble sisters heads), adding some purity seals and space marine backpacks (perhaps cut down slightly) and swapping the rifles for bolters. Try something, post a picture.

I think the warrior monks idea is also solid.

Yeah the warrior monk idea sounded good but then I thought:aren't Space Marines already the warrior monks and the SOB are the nuns

I looked at the Imperial Knights and they all have the plumage on top of their helms which would be a problem

Warning From Magnus? Not Listening!

Holy Terra.

THIS THREAD HAS BEEN NECRONIFIED!!!!!!

Just buy the legs and torsos of eBay, you can get 20 legs for 3$, and female torsos for the same. GO CONVERT!!!! Heads can be purchased from lots of companies. They are the same price as sisters, but you get 20, instead of 3.

I'm of for more reawakening.
