hello this some of my work of my cadian 45th

please painting ideas and friendly critisism

criticism first; the turret on the tank needs sealing in the gap.

the commander guy (forget what he's called) has a tiny little spill from his medals on his coat. and i know how much of a perfectionist you are, so you'll want to fix that now.

great work, can't wait for you to show everyone else here the rest of your force, i already know it looks great. very crisp white.

Pretty cool The color scheme looks great overall. Makes for a good group shot.

The white looks great. You should work on the skin tone. right now it looks rather washed out. I prefer to work with bestial brown and skull white and mix my own flesh color so that i can control every aspect of the tone.

Agree on all points - the skin tone looks very similar to one I used - for a Lost and the Damned Zombie army! I recommend tallarn Flesh (foundation paint) and Ogryn Flesh wash. Simple, and very nice results all the time.

I agree. But I LIKE IT. THis way you can also use them as renegades, AND, they look dark and grimey as though they have been fighting for far too long and are now sooo hardcore that their bodies are beginning to change as a consequence. Plus it goes well with the grey/white, urban feel of the army.

Keep up the good work.

you can even go a step further if you wanted and do a really light drybrush of elf flesh

greetings once again, i know its been while since last post, but here we go i got some pictures of my valkarie, which i named lola

hay people its been a while i know. havent touched the brush for about four week. so heres first platoon of my guard.

That's a really striking colour scheme, I bet your all-white Valkyrie makes a real impact on the table. Is there a story behind their appearance?

ah yes... lola... the bane of my ork's existance... anyway, even though i've told you before, i still love that color scheme and i despise your tactics against me. seriously, it's like you gear your army specifically to beat my lists and nobody elses.

AGO9: the story with my army is there fighting on a iceworld close to cadia against children of filth's orks. im still trying to come up with a theme thou.

One thing to try is multiple thinned down layers of paint for you. Your skin is well the only major down fall of the models. try painting several layers of water thinned down paint on it.this way will give you a solid appearance, and on only a few gaurdsmen just do the same with the white otherwise good job. White on black is a pain.

Not bad, jus watch the thickness of ur paint.. ur working with white too.. ouch.. can be quite difficult at times

Also I'd add a tad of flesh to your skin colour.

hay people ive got an update for you, its a group shot of everthing in my guard that i have done so far.

everthing has been fixed and it all looks better in my opinion.

fluff: the cadian 45th under the leadership of feldmarschall schwerdtmann , are ingaged in a war of attrition against the forces of chaos, on the ice world of glacialiam, they are also been supported by the death korps of krieg ( ill be getting some krieg infantry and krieg stormtroopers from forge world). the death korps are there to help in the war effort but also "to show the greenhorns how its realy done", and basically its an never ending war on this ice world.

so here's what i got so far.

Coming along nicely mate! They look great in the group shot and nice work on the Commisar. Reminds me, I need some fluff for my guard.

Really nice work on the Commissar, especially his skin: much less zombie-like!. As a force it looks unified, which can never be bad. Tanks next, I am guessing?

well yes ive fixed up the the skin on all my guard (sorry no pics) and ive just went threw and fixed up the details. this will be the only big update until i get some tanks.

looking good man. damn, i can't wait to crush that commissar under my Ceramite shod boots. look at him. all smug with his riding crop and bolt pistol and his HAT. i spit on him and his authority....


ahem... now where was i? oh yeah, good job.

query: are the white highlights on the commissars jacket too over the top and too big, if they are please sugestions to fixing.

Because you didn't build it up enough, try starting from black, then drybrushing varying mixes of gray up to the desired effect, making it a few tones lighter each time and using less and less paint. hey, works for me.
