Thought I'd show what I've been spending much of my sculpting time working on lately after accepting a Commission for a full squad of ten Praetorian themed Ogryn conversions based on the Ogre Bull (and later Leadbelcher) plastic kits.

At the moment I've gotten to the stage of having the first five finished excluding their weapons which will be the next part of the project before moving onto the other five members of the unit.

The first three came out pretty much as I'd hoped, there is to be a fair bit of diversity in terms of uniform across the unit to give them the proper Praetorian feel, while also having a feral edge of what lies beneath.

The forth I was less happy with, while the concept of the open jacket was fun it just didnt work out in line with the vision, acceptable, but he's definately my least favourite of the first five. In retrospect following some suggestions I'm gonan revisit this one one last time and add a seam for the inner lining of the jacket which will hopefulyl further improve the look of the model.

The Bonehead meanwhile has been a big success for me, it's definately been one of my favourites to make (the first two were probably on a par with him as they ooze with character for me), looking forward to an Ogryn sized chainsword to arm him with next.

The jackets look ace. You're obviously very skilled with the GS.

Same as Linked, how long did they take?

Slappy.

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.

Very much like the look of the Pratorian Ogryn, a true master with the GS. Keep it up.

Thanks guys!

Linked & Slappywag, to be hoenst I dont keep count, I'd estimate something like a couple of hours of actual work tops per Ogryn, though the weapons will add to that, that does'nt include cure times though which are considerably more.

AdrianG, thast the plan, I've got the weapons on the go, then I'll get back onto the other five which so far are only basicly started.

SilverMK2, I hope too see them painted too lol, not for me to do though, while I've taken them on as a modelling commission I struggle to paint my own models let alone someone elses!

Well, even unpainted, your GS work looks fantastic, so don't beat yourself too much over not being able to paint... I can't paint or GS, so

Just nice!

I would like to steal your minis... but, well, what's the punishment for that? - Idon't know...

One question:

What weapons will you use for them (hopefully, more realistic guns than the GW ones...)?

Best regards,

Inspires me to convert (well, hire you to convert ) a few ogryn thralls for a Mechanicus force I've been contemplating.

ah dont get me wrong SilverMK2, I can paint pretty reasonably, just I'm so slow that it can sometimes be measured in geological time!

The Chaos-Kraut, the weapons are probably not gonna be mroe realistic I'm afraid the customer has asked for Gatling type weapons, so they'll be more about style then functionality.

Myrthe, Mechanicus Ogryns now theres a very cool concept!!

An update on the Ogryns with the guns underway, I'm a terrible artisit so I did some state of the art computer graphics (note the blatant lie) to show my idea of the ripper gun to the chap who commissioned these, basicly he wants a Gatling Gun type arrangement and it's this that I'm working from.

I've then knocked up the barrel assemblies from some half tube and plastic rod.

And then created and cast with a greenstuff press molded the gun muzzle, this is the first one straight out of the mold, just need a little cleaning up now, onto the stock and ammo drum next.
