I think.
As most know, I despise FW for their poor quality, bad customer services and many other things, but like a [not really appropriate comment deleted] who who is beaten by her husband I still keep coming back with expectant looks and hoping for change, only to get another bitchslap followed by that funny sad trombone sound.
Anyway.
After two months of waiting I could finally get my squad of Elysians. I was quite gobsmacked and astounded to receive a bag of perfectly cast Elysians in a resin colour that looks a lot like standard plastic. Not only that, but no flash, no moldlines, no misaligned parts. Not even grease and other materials left over from removing the parts from the molds.
HOLY GAK.
My first reaction was to ask the shopkeep if it really was FW stuff.
If this is a sign of things to come I think FW will enjoy taking my money more often.

Indeed, I couldn't believe it when I first saw them. That these are from a new mold is obvious and if these really are plastic, all the better! I've glued a pair of legs to a base and they hold up nicely. I'm going to try a torso to those legs next to see if things are easier to assemble now.

Exactly.
And after some testing it would appear that regular plastic glue does not create a good bond between the parts, so superglue will be needed after all.

I think it's more due to fresh molds.
All resin molds wear aout through use. Mold release can extend this period, but damage WILL happen, and with it, cast quality declines.
They are sharp looking, but really, having a sniff of the sprue would have told you if it was resin or plastic (they release different aromatics).
You might get lucky with a suction bond with resin and plastic, but tbh, if the 'plastic' doesn't soften with the application of liquid poly - it's either ABS or resin.

I never thought i would use the names and terms "Forgeworld" and "good quality" in the same sentance, but these look fething great!
Allthough, is it just a 1st impression thing where they start off amazing to draw people in, then slowly let that quality slip? (much like the ancient FW did)
All in all, im ordering a mega dread with klaws now (or 2 killkannons lol)
I think if its this quality throughout they will see a nice % more of buisness from happy customers. Automatically Appended Next Post: Edit: Does this now mean i can order a squiggoth with 4 legs instead of 3 and a stump?

Yes, however inevitable shipping damage means that you're receive 3 and a stump, even though FW sends it as 4.

"Anime" is not a language.
Anyway, glad to hear you got a good cast, but for the prices Forge World charge every cast should be as good as this one.

This.
Whenever I've ordered anything after they JUST have put something up, they always look that crisp. Hell, I've got 180 Cadian Respirator heads from when they were first released that look that sharp.
I think, BrookM, what you got, was the start of them redoing the molds for the upcoming Elysian v. Ork book. But grats to you either way

I recently put in a 450GBP FOrgeworld Order for my Orks. I've not checked all the parts but I've started on my Eavy Bomma. This will be my 3rd Eavy Bomma I've done.
Its missing 1 small bomb, the arestor hook. I've phoned up and they are sending me replacement parts. On building it, I then realised I've x2 RH wing tips. I've phoned up and they are sending me a LH hand one. The wing tip has arrived, but not the other missing parts yet.
Unfortunately, now I've got x3 RH wing tips, and x0 LH wing tips. So I'll be phoning up again.
This is kit number 1 out of the dozen I've ordered!
