Gathering the Informations.

I love how the first reply on the forum thread is a bash at Warhammer Fanboys and Space Hulk.

/facepalm

But yeah, awesome. The game always looked interesting, and West Wind's models are pretty sweet. Just wish they'd move from lead/pewter towards plastics for some things.

Well, there is always a bit of over-reacting/rampant kool-aid drinking present at the 'alternative/little guys' web sites.

The actual developers themselves have, I believe, stayed away from such talk.

Plastic is probably a looooong way off, if ever, given the size of the operation and all that.

Still, the Weird War II genre is a lot of fun, and Westwind/Grindhouse are really doing it right!

I do like the models for the German side. But most of the Allies side stuff looks a bit Orky.

I got a free Ape Suit at Adepticon that lives on as a Mega Armor Ork.

I really like hte Werewolf guys.

I bet they will, if they make enough to get the capital for plastic molding services and equipment.

These guys are not a big company from what I can tell.

But maybe they could get in touch with Wargames Factory or Warlord for making plastics.

Just to update this thread:

Okay. We’re opening up for boxed set pre-orders. Look on “The Game” page on the Incursiongame.com website. The run is limited to 1000 copies. Given the level of worldwide interest from miniature and board gamers alike that we have experienced, we expect these to go pretty fast. The only way to ensure you get a copy is to pre-order now.

West Wind will have a pre-order button up in the next week or so.

The final proofs and whiteboard mockup were approved and sent back last week. Production began in earnest on Monday. It’s even nicer than we expected. Production is estimated to be complete by December 11 and delivered to us mid January.

We’ll put up photos of the finished product when we get our advanced copies next month.

Please note that there is also a special package deal that you can opt for.

Faaaantastic. I'm really hoping my LGS picks this up. I've been waiting for a year for this. Until FFS picked it up they didn't think it would go to print precisely because of the re-release of Space Hulk, so I'm glad they got the extra funding and support to continue.

Sad, too, since Westwind used to be Ral Partha....which at one time was the largest figure company in America, and second only to GW worldwide...it would be nice to see them shift to plastic. And maybe they will. Plastic prices have dropped a lot now, look at Wargames Factory, Mantic, Warlord Games, Perry Miniatures, etc.....(though yes, I think most of them outsource the mold making, etc). Funnily enough, almost all of those have ex-GW employees involved...

I got the Ape at Adepticon as well...it is ok, and may paint up well, and while I like the Dark WWII stuff, I've never really gotten into it (as I could just play historicals...). But I do hope they do well.

I thoguht it was Iron Wind Metals that took over most of Ral Partha... or did it split two ways?

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Just to be clear, Incursion is 100% Grindhouse Games. West Wind is assisting us with distribution in Europe, but all sculpts, art, publishing, development and US distribution is being handled by us. We share the Secrets of the Third Reich IP with West Wind from our cooperative effort in publishing that game last year. Cheers!

You may be right, Iron Wind is most of the old RAL PARTHA in US. I thought Westwind was RAL PARTHA UK....that could be wrong- and I'm just confusing the 2 companies. (after checking out the website, I have to say you are right....sorry, got ahead of myself.) But hopefully they can get the money together for plastics in the future. They have some interesting concepts, and I'd like to see them make it.

@johnbailey, sorry, and thanks for the quick info. I got one on the way, and I'll be excited to get it. (also thanks for the APE at Adepticon!)

@Tethyr13- Not a problem at all, thanks for the order! Glad you like the Adepticon mini, we'd love to do something like that again, being long time tourney vets ourselves.

@johnbailey;

Do you know what the plans are beyond the 1,000 prints? If successful, will there be more runs?

Unfortunately I won't be able to order a copy until after Christmas. Which puts me SOL I suspect.

Also, are there any pics to share at all yet?

WIP stuff even?

Either way, I'm glad to see the INCURSION has made it this far!

We're a small company, so we have flexibility in our plans. If this print run flies off the shelf (as the pre-orders presently are) I would expect us to order another run immediately, assuming everything with the manufacturer goes as smoothly as it is so far.

The minis are out there, the board art has been available for download, so much of the game is there to be seen on our site. As I mentioned above, as soon as we get our advance copy next month, we'll put up a bunch of pics then.

Congrats! I know this is a real labour of love, and I'm really happy you got it to print.

Is this only available through you site, or have you had any stores carry it?

Our webstore is the best source for US, though I know several US stores have pre-orders, if you send an email to Jim he can give you a list. West Wind has kindly agreed to do our European distribution.

John, when are the combined boxed sets going to start shipping out?

I preordered that nice big combined set with the German/Allied starter sets and am giddy with excitement

If the gods of international shipping are kind, all sets should start shipping in mid- to late-January.

Good news on the Warstore!

I just wish that Neil and the Warstore would jump in on Secrets of the Third Reich too!
