Finally dug up some info on this and the cover.
After Istvaan V, Horus declares outright war against the Imperium. In the shadows of the Emperor's Palace, powerful figures convene. Their plan - to send a team of assassins to execute the arch-traitor Horus and end the war for the galaxy of mankind before it's even begun. But what they cannot know is that another assassin is abroad already, with his sights firmly set on killing the Emperor.
Given how hardcore the custodes and their security is in Blood Games I don't rate his chances at all.

KK Every Black Lib book has no suspense, you read it for the roid monkeys cutting each other in half and have the priviledge for bathing in their superhuman arrogance. Yeah I have to admit in seriousness its tough to make a book about assassins who everyone knows have to fail interesting. Good luck author of said book.

Wait... the Temples were around during the HH?
And why do they write books where the plot is to dramatically change something that we know was never changed? It's like all the episodes of Stargate in Season 7 where the main plot was "will they survive?", which was always answered with "They're in the main titles - so of course they fething survive!"
