Hello,
Something a colleague of mine created. He's not so internet savvy and well he said I could post it for him (I've me own stuff which I will post at some point)

Toes are scratchbuilt then cast and the AM logo is cast from an original. All the scroll work and Aquillia are thin plasticard. The curved leg plates and body hull are this thick plastic like foam stuff - bent over a flame - stuff sticks rock hard with super glue. Not seen many scratch built Mars Pattern hounds.
He tells me this is not finished, he's quite mad and did it in NMM painting style. Oh and the guns are interchangeable, he's got a vulcan mega cannon as well for it.

Scratch-built Mars Pattern! Wow!

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Superb titan! A lot of scratch builds end up looking too blocky, but this is simply fantastic! Make sure you post pictures of whenever it reaches his standards of 'finished'.

This is amazing!

The Mars Pattern Warhound is my absolute favorite.

Did your conversion end up 'saving' money in the end (time and materials!) vs. the Forgeworld version?

And if so, are you taking commissions?

About £12 in materials - glue etc mainly and plastic - the rest was from scrounging, borrowin and well this and that (ie I had some plasticfoamcard stuff I gave him)

Time lots.. comissions I doubt it - but I will ask... its not even a conversion - its about 95% scratch - the platicard big aquillas and scroll work are my favourites.

I can't believe you made a Mars pattern, that is brilliant sir! I am most envious (I've been wanting a Mars pattern for a while), don't suppose you have a step by step guide?

That is so amazing and I can't believe he scratch built it. Pass on my congratulations to the builder

I can't even dream of painting or modelling that well.

Amazing is the word for it and I'm surprised that I found this thread by accident instead of an in house search. An outstanding effort that makes me want to attempt a Mars pattern of my own now that Lucie is complete.

Awright so I resurrected this thread and well it should be. I'm just sorry I was able to offer huzzahs while it was current.

I always thought that no-one would ever scratchbuild a good n' proper mars pattern Warhound because of the rounded structure, this just blew that theory wide open!
