My attempt at a Medusa (closed top) and Vanquisher

From an OOP Bandai WWII Elephant and King Tiger (Porshe turret) in 1/48 scale, the rest of the parts from GW.

Until the new Basilisk/Combo comes out (if ever)...

I still have a Panther (turret good size for Hellhound of some sort), and a Hetzer (very small, so not sure what to bash it into yet) all old kits by Bandai and all in 1/48.

I was going to say I consider 1/48 scale too small for 40K. but your vehicles show how parts can be combined very effectively.

Nice job there. Congrats.
Don't know if the FW model would be cheaper though (elephant, shaddow sword & chimera = $$$)

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Yes, leftover parts from the Shadow-Sword kit used both vehicles weapons...

How about this turret?

Closed top Medusa looks good and I like the look of the Vanquisher.

You can get the bits for the shadow sword on ebay for a few bucks. Dunno the costs for the wwii models but you can get some of them are really cheap like 5 bucks.

I've seen some awful WW2 model conversions in 40K, but these I really like. My only criticism is that the Vanquisher gun barrel seems too long (chop one segment to make it two thirds as long?), and its turret needs a gruntier mantlet to mount such a big gun.
