Ok so now that I have a down to the wire deadline I decided it's high time to paint my flawless sons CSM for Mechanicon. I have just under 4 weeks and almost 40 models to paint. With this mind you I work a full time job of 40+ hours a week and have a couple of dogs and a fiance...... (Que chessey rocky music) ooo ya I still have to build most of my tanks as well. So that said I will start updating you all as it gets done. Heres a few pics

I dig the conversions, the warped armor feel really comes through, now do you actually field thousand sons or does your army name have nothing to do with them?

Nice painting, although I thought the name of that CSM Army was "Flawless Host"?

They actually have no thousands sons trait to them I just fell all Chaos Space marines after a few thousand years will have some form of mutation to their body. As my posting name implies for the past 7 or soo years I have been a devote follower of Slaanesh.

You are very correct on that sir and if you look on one of my other thread on the 40k list I have posted the fluff for it. My initial test models came out rather eh for my taste. Personally I have in the past grown weary of doing pink and prefer more of the richness of purples and what nots. The light pink/almost peach color comes from th ereaper master line of blushing rose. and rose. These two basics mixed with a little white here and their to the backdrop of black paint on primer has yeilded the paintjob you have seen.

I will post more pics as soon as I get my camera fixed. One of which is the lord that I am almost done converting, and the Landraider with a Dias on top. As usual I look forward to hearing more of what you all think. heres a link to the list thread :

thanks for the agreement on lack of spikes.. I learned about 8 years ago that spikes are bad cause they break all the darn time, and then it leaves the models with exposed unpainted areas and I hate that after all the work you put into them. Also thanks for postingthe pics themselves im still trying to figure that whole process out.

Ok so it has been a few days I know since I have last posted and for that I do aplogize being that I have been busy as hell at work and trying to get ready for mechanicon. With that I have the 3rd squad done and am painting my 4th. I decided to show you some of my wip of my landraider and lord with jump wings.











as usual any ideas welcome. The land raider will have a slave on the slab in fron t of the altar.

was thinking of removing the back exhaust pipes and putting an organ pipe set in what do you all think?

I really dig the sacrificial altar on there. It definately has an evil feel to it.

As far as the organ goes, would the SoB Exorcist organ thingy be too big or were you thinking of scrath building one? Either way, I think the organ idea has potential.

I would be scratch building out of either small brass tubbing or plastic card tubing. I had dine this previously on a landraider a whileago, but did not build the platform right. This time I would take my saw to the who back area between the treeds and then build a open box out of it first with plywood for foundation then with plasticard over to give a smooth surface to paint on. I would build the Organ seperate then just slide it in. I want to do it but my only kicker is time as I need to finish the army by Mechanicon in less then 3 weeks. So most likely I will hold off on the landraider(being as im waiting for the bitz anyways) until the last.

Initially the sacrifical slab was a padded bed for ahh umph anyways. She was gonna be the slave to the psyker but I decided it wasnt fully appropriate and went with the slab. The twin linked heavy bolters in front had to be scratch built as I bought this as a crusader and sold the bitz from that and got the lascannons off ebay from a great bitz store I frequent. I then took two heavy bolters from the squad sprues and worked from there.

appriate all the great words of advice so keep them up all. If somethings so good I would make amodel of the idea for the person.

Alrighty all with mechanicon looming just a meer week away I have been cranking out minis like no tomorrow. An hour here an hour there and whola. Though I hate speeding through an army I know my next one(pre-heresy shhhh) I will actually take my time on and what not, and should I go overseas later next year I have already made up my mind on a custodes army of 50 some odd that will count as grey knights that I will paint to my GD standard which is far higher then these models. That said it has been fun so far and this week I have completed 2 squads,1 rhino(3 left),1 landraider, finished the conversions for all the other stuff on the table. That said I still need to shoot over to my local store ad pick up 2 more rhinos this weekend as I have one laying around atm, and this weekend plan on finishing the 5 man termie squad and the raptors. This will leave me with just the lord and the tanks left for monday tues then I can build a fast movement board on weds and then take thurs for the family So without further ado heres the pics from this week hope you enjoy

Well sadly the army is almost completed but stuff worked out for me and I am buying a house now so I am being forced to sell it to cover some of my closing costs.
