Beware trading with user: Zid

You will probably get the models that you requested. (but they will be broken or incomplete)

I open the box that i have been waiting for. To find a shopping bag containing 40 hormagaunts, a wadded ball of bubble wrap containing broken warriors, a package of 3 metal lictors (all broken) and all the monsterous creatures simply thrown into the bottom of a box 3 times too large for the contents..

I traded 4000 pts. of Tau, which were all individually and painstakingly wrapped. I recieved 2000 pts. of broken tyranids wrapped in 5 big wads of bubble wrap, and a shopping bag of hormagaunts...

If you trade with him request that he actually packs his models, and has someone else fill out the shipping label, (package was lost because of his handwriting)

When you ship via USPS you can expect to see something broken, it kinda comes with the territory. Every last model I recieved is broken... most to the point they are now junk... I may salvage half of what was sent if i can rip the polystyrene cement apart..

@ Lunahound, you had asked in his swap thread if the basecoated models had been previously painted. He replied they had not or they had been stripped. None of the basecoated models have teeth or eyes anymore, or any detail for that matter, you could not tell from fuzzy pictures..

I have written this to publicly thank user Zid for sending me his trash...

One very one-sided trade..

Wow, that's crap, dude. Sorry you got burned. Every time I make a trade (mostly on Ordo) I sit in dread and hope the other guy is straight up. Happily, in about a dozen trades, only one bad. I think the majority of us are straightforward and fair; but it sucks to get a bad trade.

Are the hormagaunts broken? It's hard to tell from the pic. It sounds like a raw deal, but didn't he describe the condition his items were in? I just went and looked up the thread:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/258507.page

And a quote from partway down the page:
Zid wrote:No, I actually did strip a ton of the genestealers/gaunts when I bought a guy on e-bays armys. The ones with the still very bad paint jobs were the ones I didn't strip (mostly cuz I could care less about hormagaunts). Everything white primered were new or stripped.

I just wanted to mention this, because many tyranid players that I have played against have treated their hormagaunts like this. It might not have occured to him to pack them carefully, when he would normally just toss them in a box. It definitely sux since you packed yours well, but for the hormagaunts, I've seen many players do this. So did they end up broken?

The big bugs look like they had a rough time in the mail... sorry to see that :-/

There were pics in his swap thread, I shipped first and stated specifically that shipping should be equal.

I shipped Priority Signature service, it cost me $27.03 I shipped saturday, he recieved monday..

He shipped Parcel Post and spent 13.70 he shipped wednesday the 10th i receieved saturday the 24th, the first time it was shipped it was returned to sender because the shipping label was illegible.

He did recieve some broken models from me.. They were very CLEARLY shown in the Hi-Def photos in my swap thread. None of the models in his pictures were broken and he had stated that the models were painted only once.

I should have known better when he complained that it took him too long to unwrap the army..

I recieved what you see above.

he got this:

I thought i was pretty clear the whole way through.. For twice the points value I was expecting...I dunno....WHOLE models..

Wow :( That's a nice Tau army!

I did the reverse trade through SwapShop (a nids army for a tau army), but was fortunate enough to get a great trader who agreed to swap army cases with me, so we both shipped ours in an army case with the models mostly safe in the foam.

You didn't happen to save a copy of the pics he posted in the thread, did you? I'm guessing the models were whole / complete in the pics?

This definitely seems one-sided :/

Im sorry to hear your loss , unfortunately i asked him that because i knew there were paint underneath ( i saw other color in the crevices )
But i thought i would stay out of the deal if the guy choose to be dishonest about it.

Recent issues in swap shop have been sort of a let down , personally i will not be trading anymore unless its with
the people i know , or have traded already .

My recent batch received of Kroots are abit unexpected >< body parts snapped off and missing ,
the painted ones were also converted ( have no idea whats going on in the conversion >< )

The models in the pictures were intact from what i could see.

Zid shipped me what he said he would. He just shipped really poorly, which resulted in a tremendous amount of damage. And i feel like he sent me the gakkier models he had.

I was willing to trade a larger points cost because i was expecting to recieve the better models that he had, I asked for unpainted, unprimed whenever possible. I honestly believed that my army was a beater, apparently not..

I have had difficulty trading here as well. I would recommend bartertown for future trades. If you can't get your tau back the Nids should be salvagable with some SuperClean. it comes in a large purple bottle available at walmarts automotive area. Just get a sturdy plastic container with a lid and soak the models in it for a few days. I have had to strip a Nid army in similar condition. It takes a while, but it is possilbe.

that edit is uncalled for if a bad trader cant handel an attack on his bad trade then do not trade, and how could you remove the fact the trade should be reversed to be brought back to a positive trade.....it seems that your almost protecting the bad tradeer......and that is uncool,i put nothing more than the truth of the matter

instead of editing me maybe some action to zid would be more of a thing to do...you and the other mods here whant this to be a positive tradeing EXP but no action seems to be taken on those bad traders...only action on those that seem to whant this to be a postive sight seems to get an edit and other such things...i have rep on dakka and rogue market and also some other sights but its really uncool that those that try to keep things cool here on dakka get the EDIT bomb

my post had no neg to anyone but the bad trader so i see no problem of what i said but you did so hey maybe you should focus on the ones doing wrong instead of the ones trying to keep this place real and fun to trade on

so when you edit dont remove the truth of the matter i used no foul content just a heated response,to a thing we have all grown tired of

these things are quickly ende in the rogue-market for bad traders get cut

so im not sorry and i await your edit bomb again

QTF , because the care that good traders like 31rls31 put into the whole transaction is like a building block on
having a good solid Swapshop , i would wonder what would happen to the swap shop if every trade ends up bad like this thread or worse.

Ok, well heres my response to big'uns post.

I originally shipped this box 3 weeks ago. Yes, the horms were wrapped in a plastic bag, but how the hell else do I send 40 models? it was that or a ziplock baggy (and I did wrap it in bubblewrap). The metal models were bound to break, so I wrapped them tightly with bubblewrap, along with a lot of the other stuff. The box was pretty tight, but I used almost an entire roll of bubblewrap to try and make sure the stuff would be good.

Now, I shipped out 3 weeks ago and the package got LOST in the mail. I eventually recieved it back. The package was a bit beaten up, but Big'uns wanted it ASAP so I didn't open it to check the contents and sent it out again. He recieved it, obviously the crap was broken. In NONE of my other trades on other forums did my stuff come broken like it did to Big'uns (I have done 2 trades on RT and 1 on BT). My guess was that while lost in the mail the box got beaten to hell prior to me recieving it back. 2 weeks bouncing around in the mail when most of the models were metal stuffs bound to break.

I appologize for whatever happened, but I did the best I could with what I was given. Had he recieved the models 2 weeks ago like he was supposed to (I guess the post guy couldnt read my handwriting?) the models would have been fine. The guy that recieved the other half of my models said everything arrived in great condition!

Theres not much I can do to rectify this situation any further. I'll take the blame if it makes you feel better, but honestly I know it wasn't my fault. Metal models break in shipping if put together, this is normal, but bouncing around the mail for 2 weeks... even if I'd opened em and everything was busted there was nothing I could do at that point.

My apologies, I'll take my buisness elseware

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh as well, I sent you ALL the tyrants and carnis I had. Those were the pictured ones. I sent you the hormagaunts that were assembled, only 2 were missing claws (the other guy got the majority of the broken ones, tho I told him beforehand and he was fine with it). Everything else was as pictured originally. I didn't send you gak, I actually sent you my best models before they were broken. Ask anyone on these forums who knows me personally, I took good care of them when i had them. And like I said your the only one in 4 trades that I've had this issue with, and even then I believe it was the post office, not my fault.

So Zid, I assume you had to ship it twice?

Big'un, can you peel off the first label for postage to see if there is a second? No offense Zid, But I've heard alot of these same stories over at bartertown, with every excuse imaginable.

31rls31 <-- In his shipment to me , he wrapped ALL his minis in paper tissue paper towel , every single one thats how.

I'd opened em and everything was busted there was nothing I could do at that point.

When i ship fragile items , the other side is always told ahead of time first . and i always include some free gifts / bits to compensate.
In large armies , i have even offered to send some money via paypal.

By all means im not saying you HAVE to do things this way. Its just... it can be done.

Oh I should also point out this was the trade BIG UNS PROPOSED. As well, the wings were extra bits I bought off a friend, they weren't glued on that great to begin with. Use epoxy and glue it on his sides, you can see where I stripped some paint to make it hold.

The carnis look pretty ganked up, thats from shipping. I wrapped each one seperately. The metal carnis tail broke off, not that hard to fix. I don't know how the warriors broke off the bases. It looks like a few arms broke off the lictors.

Obviously you haven't dealt with a lot of metal models. Seeing as I didn't pin ANYTHING (yes, I held even the tyrants together til the glue set) they were bound to fall apart. Its honestly repairable damage, the orks I recieved in a trade were far worse off than this.

Well reimbursement for this entire army I sent would be upwards of $700. 5 carnis, 3 HT's, 2 lictors, 40 horms, etc. is a lot of individual models. I can offer some money, but seriously, this damage IS repairable. Expecting me to pay out my behind is too much.

I had some questions about a trade, and asked the other user for his phone number... fastest way I've ever resolved anything. I don't know if you'd be willing, but if you really want to talk through / make it right, that'd be the easiest way to work it out!

You recieved my army first you, should have taken one look and seen your trade was not on par..

You recieved 50 fire warriors
40 kroot and dozens of other models all individually wrapped in paper, I insured that no two models touched and that the box was stuffed to keep things from moving..

In your box there were 5 bubble wrap balls, taking up 40% of the box. Not one model is not broken zid.. most were just in bits at the bottom of the box.

You know darn well that they could have kicked the box i sent to you halfway cross country and not much damage would have happened. You will also notice on the box that was shipped to you it says FRAGILE all over it.. Unlike your box which is unmarked.

I took every precaution to ensure that you recieved my army( and im guessing only the models that started out broken you recieved broken) and you took none. Including skimping on postage in the first place.

You can seriously say that you believe this is a fair trade?
