Hey i am going to try to convert me a sanguinius model. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas other than the model based off of the nightbringer or the Avatar of Aurellius. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated Thanks

You could use the St. Celestine model as a base and work from there, although you'll have to remove the femimine aspects of the model.

some of the older conversions involve the inquisitor scale brother artemis marine model. most that i've seen use the ctan you already mentioned.

Use the sigvald the magnificent miniature from the WOC fantasy range. Give him some bretonnian pegasus knight wings or great eagle wings. Make sure you file off all the slannesh signs on sigvald. And then just paint the armour gold or red. Depends on your preference.

Hope that helps

Sigvald's too small to be a Primarch. Didn't someone use Nightbringer for a Sanguinius conversion not too long ago?

I like all of those models but i recently came across a new piece of artwork that I liked a lot and I know it is not the traditional Sanguinius but I liked it a lot and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this one?

Are you sure that's not Sanguinius? He's the only Blood Angel who ever grew wings.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I have to say he needs a better sword(by better i mean claymore). And i don't think it would be sanguine, i don't remember hearing much about his helmet.

Wish I could find my unfinished conversion of him to show some pics on my take from a year or so ago...big hinderance was the shoulderpads and finding a model with a face cut between being masculine yet angelic.
Used the lower half of the nightbringer model with the legs bulked out and new cloth overtop with GS.
the torso was made from the chest piece and back piece of some BT power armour (midriff section carefully removed), the armour with the high, slightly sloping gorget without robes. Midriff was from an eldar gaurdian bulked on the sides and back with GS to match the chest, then slight GS buildup on the spine pressing the wings into it so when glues they'd blend out seamlessly from the armour.
Sword was an emperors champions sword.

Just some advice from a fellow Primarch'er.
Oh and don't rule out the Sigval model - slightly lengthened the gap between the two halves of the body with GS, bit of sculpting over and slight conversion work makes a pretty neat Fulgrim, conveying the pretty boy character well

Well, except for that one time in Deus Encarmine / Deus Sanguinius (Blood Angels Omnibus), when Arkio grew some wings. Of course, he wore gold armor, as did Sanguinius, if I remember correctly. So, I am not sure who the heck it is.

I dont think he was saying it WAS NOT Sanquinius... he was trying to say its not the normal depiction of him (is depiction the right word? I might be wrong). But its a different kind of way to do him. Normally he doesnt have mostly red armour, wearing a helmet, and excessivly big wings right? I might be wrong but I think thats what he was trying to say

Yes Buttlerthepug its not how he is normally depicted. He is normally depicted as a golden dead angel laying under horus and i dont want to convey that when I model him. I am ordering the Forgeworld shoulder pads to use on this model. I want to him to look angelic still but I want to express the warrior side of him a little more. I am looking for a armour style that will look good and be bulky but I think terminator armour would look to bulky.

Oh, that is a sick picture. Any chance for a higher res? I'm totally going to have to try my hand at converting that guy up as my HQ. Dang he is sick. Dual wield power swords ftw.

No that was a commissioned painting done fairly recently... I want to say early 2009. All the details can be found at B&C in the Blood Angel sub forum.

I have a Scibor sculpt mini that I am going to paint using that paint scheme, and inspiration borrowed from that gorgeous painting. Here is the mini:

That piece of artwork was RAFF's doing. He is Dakka member and posts a TON of very nicely painted space marines.
