I'm a big fan of fallout 3, want to get into making custom minatures, and it can finally give me a reason to want to play 40k.
Going to make
Space Marines = Brotherhood of Steel
When I get the money to, but I just want advice if you can give any for how I can convert SM to BoS.
I will keep updates posted as I progress, If no advice can be given just post what you think of the idea.

Cheers, Zigmund

Here is a pic of one of my soldiers in my IG army which has a theme sorta like what your talking about. It's a very muggy grayish black color. Hope this helps. I used Fortress Grey for the first coating then after applying detail I used Badab black.

For BoS you'll want to use Mk4 Maximus helmets as they look the most like the BoS armour.

necromunda orlocks and escher would work well for raiders. umm supermutents could be made from orks at a stretch. feral ghouls perhaps zombies?

Hmm... could be challenging, but definately worth the effort if you can pull it off.

Using stock plastic marines, you're going to have to edit the shoulders dramatically, since the stock pauldrons sweep round the shoulder to the top of the arm and the FO3 armour has straighter ones, more akin to that of a Necron Warrior.

I'd imagine filing it down, and using plasticard to make the new pauldron and finishing the arm with green stuff would be the 'easier' method. As for the pipes and hoses around the helmet, either more green stuff or different sized guitar string would suit.

Alternatively, the T-51b armour might be a shade easier, as the shoulders aren't quite as large (going by a couple of googled pics, since I haven't played the game in ages) as the body is a bit simpler.

Yeah I see what you guys mean, and if you look at jack's picture not just the colors but I reckon the shoulder pad armor would look good on a BoS.
I went searching on some fallout sites for some pictures but this article of the classes of BoS caught my attention,
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brotherhood_of_Steel_ranks
Could I take advantage of this and put it into groups for the ranks as the space marines are into groups for attacking, like I should do some comparing...
I found a site for some heads I could use aswell,

I've been playing fallout 3 to see their weaponary, they only seem to use laser based weapons: Laser Pistol, Laser Rifle, Plasma Rifle, and some laser minigun thing I remember using before finishing the game.

the fourth picture just gave me an idea (the one of paladin gunny with no helmet), I should make some of them without helmets.

Sounds like a lot of work, good luck. I think that could look really cool.

Brothers of the Ancient Steel, SM Blog (Update Nov 5: Full army pics!)

There is not too much work done to the models to make them look like they are form Fallout but quite a bit of paint work was done.
Just thought you might like to see what someone else did.
