Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to present the future of Ork Leadership.
Part ork, part machine, all Nob. I give you ROBONOB!

This started as a quick and dirty MegaNob for a friend who wanted to play with a Mob of them. However, as I was working on it, I couldn't help but notice the resemblance, and had to paint him accordingly.

Anyway, the conversion was pretty simple. Saw off shoulder shield. Grind off termie honours. Contemplate grinding off purity seals. Decide not to. Saw off Termie head, dremel out termie neck hole. Insert model putty, insert ork head. Cut off Termie storm bolter, add twin-linked shoota. The smokestack in back is a shoota stuffed in one of the back vents. I really was going for "Speed" and "Cheap". The rivets are all bits of plasticard cut out with a scrapbookers mini-hole punch.

The only complicated bit was the arms. I can't stand how limited the arm poses are on GW models. Srsly, they got it perfect on the original plastic Space Marines and have cocked it up ever since... ANYWAY - I cut the arm-pins off and the glued half a round plastic bead to each shoulder. I then used the spherical cutter head on my Dremel tool to create matching sockets on each arm. This allowed me to pose the arms in a manner that made me happy.

The paint was an attempt to match the colour scheme of RoboCop as closely as possible. It's not exactly an optimal paint scheme for minis. Technically the powerfist should be all black, but I just couldn't make myself do it. For those interested, it was Chaos Black prime, Mithril Silver dry-brush, thinned down Regal Blue wash, Mithril Silver light dry-brush.

He's been fielded once and he punched out a Battlewagon. Do Not Mess With RoboNob.

Does the armor have blue and yellow high lights?

Or just the picture?

Quite inspiring. I need to get into working on some conversions, myself.

So the blue really is there, the yellow means it may be time to calibrate your monitor.

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.

Very nice, the subtle arm work really makes it look like it does not have the usual termi proportions and makes it look more orky.

Didn't touch his legs at all, aside from grinding the cross-n-skull off of one knee. Stock AoBR termie legs.

You all get together and it's going to be a RoboMob.

Crunch-wise he also makes a perfectly serviceable Warboss - they can take Cybork body even without a Painboy hanging around and RoboNob makes a much more convincing Cybork than he does a MegaNob.

Sweet. The legs aren't terribly orky, but the build of the terminator torso and the repositioned arms give the upper half a suitably orky shape. Also digging the subtle blue wash. Gives it a very "cold steel" kind of feel. I don't see any of the yellow in the highlights that Luna saw, just black, silver, and blue. Not bad for a quick conversion.

Honestly I hate to be the nay sayer in this one, but really it's nothing special. You did a extremely basic conversion on a leader model. I wouldn't care if it were a basic ork boy but the Nobz are the leaders and I would think ok maybe you would bulk this part or that part out, but you didnt. The painting is solid, but beyond that it is nothing special at all. Sorry to be the nay sayer but it's the truth.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Why lie and make people happy when you can make them miserable with the power of truth? Well done, sir, well done.

I actually think it looks pretty cool, a nice simple conversion and looks cool. Though it could use more orky bitz...(not too many though, I'd have a small problem with him standing in for a warboss too unless it was a friendly game, he looks like a nob, but not a warboss, sorry.)

Paintjob is cool, conversion is solid...powerfist is bland, but otherwise a good job.
