It is with great regret that I pass on the news that Mr.Brimstone, a well known and popular figure in the wargaming scene, passed away on the 20.12.09.

Our thoughts and best wishes go to his family at this difficult time.

Jon, this drinks for you.

ahhh bugger.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

yeah,
This is a real loss for the community.

I only met Brimstone the once, a few months ago, such a great guy who was busy but made the time to chat with a complete stranger.

Stunned, one of the first things I remember happening when I went on Warseer was a pm from Brimstone just asking me to calm down on a thread where I'd lost my cool as I didn't know forums very well. I apologised and went about my buisness.

I've always done my best to ignore baiting since then and be friendly/polite on forums.

I have to agree with MGS that he will be missed and aye, obviously my sympathies go out to his family.

Wow, RIP Brimstone. I remember him from my days of yore on Warseer's predecessor, Portent.net. It's a sad day for the gaming community. My thoughts go out to his family.

True that.

I'm still picking my jaw up from the floor. I just can't believe it. He was always such a cool guy. I will be praying for his family. So close to Christmas, too.

Just, feth. Wow.

He was a valued member of the community, and seemed to be a heck of a good guy, from the best I could tell on this side of the internet.

May his passing over be smooth. May his family be comforted.

Suffice to say it was very sudden and unexpected. He does indeed leave behind a young son.

Jon's sister passed this to me via warseer:

The funeral will be in West Hertfordshire on Tuesday 5th January 2010. I have his sister's e-mail, and I'd like to pass on some thoughts about Jon. I'll also send her this link.

He was a credit to the community, genial, friendly, and honest.

Damn.... holy gak.

I honestly dont know what to say, he was always such a great guy (and I for one never thought he was all that "heavy handed" with his moderation, he ran a tight ship, and that was all).

He will be missed, and I for one was looking forward to the day when he might finally reveal who is sources were.
