I tried to reverse-engineer an Ork Trukk and build a Mad Max/Doomsday-inspired truck for my desert IG.

Here are some pics:

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The truck can carry 10 bases worth of IG.

I will soon add more rope and chains, soot behind the exhausts, a driver with desert head gear (and night vision goggles) and a gunner with a mohawk haircut and a pintle mounted heavy crossbow, Mad Max style.

Other suggestions?

Damn you for figuring out a way to execute a Mad Max-style IG army before I could! And very nicely executed, too, I might add!

Really nice truck.

Would have changed the engine too since IG seems to use enclosed engines but this may be a local carrier.

Plus awesome terrain to show the truck.

Very nice truck, and that urban ruin table/terrain is well done. I'd love to get a game in on that.

The weird thing is, I honestly can see it being BOTH the trukk your using for IG, AND an Ork trukk. Very nicely done man very nice indeed

That's a great model and the terrain is awesome. I would like to see more if it. Two Questions:

1.How did you paint the truck? It looks really cool.

2.Why would you put such an awesome vehicel on a base?

>1.How did you paint the truck?

Easy: Black and Catachan basecoat. Different shades of khaki on top + lots of rust (airbrush=too easy).

2.Why would you put such an awesome vehicel on a base?

Why not?.
I put all my vehicles on (oval) bases - as I feel they then look way less toyish and fit better in scale next to my MC and miniatures (which for obvious reasons also are on bases). My only figures that do not have bases are my three Hierophants - as they would become unplayable with such large bases.

I understand the idea that they look better when next to miniatures, but when standing on such awesome multilayered terrain.

Yes, that kinda sux sometimes. I have forest- (2), desert- (2) and city- (3) themed boards and sometimes the bases (on both minis, MC and vehicle just dont mix with the board.
But... there is always Photoshop:

Very, very nice conversion. I've been thinking of something similar to this for a rag-tag guard army and I hope you don't mind me stealing it.

That is one of the best objective marker ideas I've ever seen. You got to make the crazy truck and use it to.
Though I have to say it's hard to look at it as completely unorky, the proportions seem cartoonish big, y'know if regular figs are 'heroic' scale then that thing is 'super heroic'. Great job!

Will you post some close up pics of the mohawk'd driver you mentioned?
