Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks!

I bought Asdrubael Vect, leader of the Black Heart kabal (Dark Eldar). He came in a box with the bits for a plastic raider, a box full of metal pieces and no assembly instructions. The picture on GW's website isn't readily apparent on what the finished product should look like; only has one picture angle. Anyone done this before? With pictures? I see Asdrubael's head but not a torso. I can see how his throne assembles, but have some other parts that I don't know what to do with.

Good lord - it's been forever and a day since I assembled mine so I'm having a hard time even remembering the way it originally came. I also added some Ravager side shields to my Vect so though I could get you some pictures they might be of questionable value.

Basically you assemble the Raider but cut off the safety rail that runs along the center body and that's where the base platform goes. The throne should be pretty easy to figure out. Vect comes in a couple pieces - his torso should be the one that has both shoulderpads flaring upwards.

The gunners tend to go near the front end of the sideboards with their guns attached up to the platform (mine are different since I attached to the Ravager side plates I used). The two Incubi go along the back end of the sideboards flanking the throne. Slave wenches go anywhere in front of Vect's feet that you think they look good.

I could probably get up some pictures of mine from a few angles tomorrow if you think it would help and promise not to laugh at my paintjob. A Google image search for Asdrubael Vect turned up a couple multi angle shots.

Maybe those will help.

What a terrible pain in the ass that model is....

But thor is right. you need to rip off the rails in the middle to get them to fit.... Also I would suggest tossing out all the figures except the pimp in the middle and the slave girls.

For one thing unless you pin their feet they will break off, and for another thing it frees up a lot of room for MOAR! SLAVE GIRLS!

I think you should make it like a corpse cart, but instead of dead bodies it would be covered in HAWT SLAVE GIRLIES!

It is an absolute pain. I recommend creating a much more sturdy base for it, as I did. I used plasticard tubing crammed with a few magnets (3 per side) to replicate the base height, as well as anchor within the underbelly. That will help it out a lot, since it is really top heavy.

Here is the one I did:

It was a commission, for reference.

I do recommend that you paint each part first, then assemble, or it will be a nightmare to paint.

Yes it is a nightmare! I did a custom base with 4 flying stands glued to 1 flying base. Also, getting Vect & his throne on the raider is some of the hardest modeling work I've ever done.

You just got to love GW for not including ANY instructions, too. I will be glad when the Dark Eldar range gets redone. Seriously.

As an interesting side note to this. Yesterday I was digging through my bits looking for something or other. In the bottom of one of the tackleboxes I use for storage are a bunch of old assembly instruction pamphlets that I kept around for some gawd forsaken reason. In a stroke of mild curiosity I flipped through them and found...the assembly instructions for Asdrubael Vect!

It's 10 pages long (I am not kidding) and even includes specific instructions for where the slave girls are located (apparently the Sister of Battle is cunningly hiding that knife directly where Vect can see it) If you still need the help, Dash, let me know and I'll see about scanning up the pages and sending you a copy.

Is there no problem a bitz box cannot solve?
