I have been skimming around and have found a few good paint schemes, but nothing that I have found extraordinarily aesthetically pleasing. I have seen a lot of plague marines that i like but unfortunately most people don't seem to list their color scheme. So I'm hoping that some of you deathguards out there would be willing to post some pics and a paint list.

also I'm working on coming up a with a nice rust color, but am having some difficulties. I noticed a few people suggested using tin bitz mixed with a lighter brown and blood red. but I have found that tin bitz gives too much of a copper look and is far too shiny. does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the help guys.

The one basic necessity for all you Papa Nurgle fans out there is washes. Thraka Green and Devlan Mud are good choices in this case. Rotten Flesh is a must for the green color schemes. For Bin Bitz try toning it down with some standard brown and red Paint. This would give you a good redish-brownish color that rust usually is. You should then stipple it with a watered down orange.

I've painted a GAK load of Death Guard & though my style varies a bit from sqaud to sqaud my basic techneqiue is as follows.

Under coat Chaos Black.
Base coat cattachan green
lighter aplication Camo green
coat of chestnut ink (devlan mud now)
drybrush Rotten flesh
drybrush Bleached bone
watered down devlan mud
light drybrush bleached bone
do any highlighting needed.

For Armour trim/wepons
Beastial brown
drybrush/trim with Dark Flesh
light drybrush Tin Bitz
very light Boltgun metal
wash with devlan mud

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

here's my army -

base colour was rooting flesh. I then dipped them in a water soluble, quick drying wood stain (mid oak I think).
I painted the brass with tin bitz then brass & gold then shaded with develan mud & then a thin green wash followed by a thin wash of jade green paint.

The rust was given a base coat of dark flesh. then I mixed in blazing orange and sort of dabbed it on then did the same with oure blazing orange.

Typhus was painted up the traditional way starting from Knarloc Green highlighting up to rotting flesh then had washes of green & brown in various mixes & wateryness & then highlighted again.

If you have any questions please PM me for more hints N tips!

if you want a visually striking DG army then scoot on over to the Tutorial section and look up the "Stripey White" death guard. Here's an example:

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

My nurgle CSM are undercoated black, whitewashed with watered down skull white, then the trim is painted a dark olive green, then they are heavily washed with flesh wash for a kind of rusty/corroded/bleh look.

They can be seen in my gallery.

And for simple rust I tend to go tin bitz with blazing orange drybrushed over the top, with extra rusty bits getting a small dot of pure blazing orange.

For rust i always use Daerk Flesh with a stipple of Blazing Orange.

I'm not a death guard lpayer myself but i have had success in "dirty-ing up" my IW army by using devlan mud. mix soem green wash in with that and it woudl probably work wonders on any paint scheme.

I had some luck finding sites and threads that listed pics and paint schemes together with their associated projects. I say I had luck, but it wasnt much. Like I said, most people either post only the pic or only the color scheme. I feel it is necessary to have both. Any way, this is what I have found so far:
http://www.youtube.com/user/mattraker1#p/search/0/5dpqq0p0NwA a vid obviously. video quality isnt that great, but has some good tips
http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=125001&st=0 a thread that has quite a few schemes with pics
http://www.papanurgle.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1211&view=next this one doesnt give a lot of info on the paint scheme but it's something
http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5330 the last one on this thread has the color scheme and a link to another thread with its associated pics
http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/painting/185605-plague-marine-paint-scheme-other-than-green.html no listed paint schemes, but a lot of nice pics of nontraditional nurgle stuff, very nice

Anyone else know of any other links, or have some stuff of there own they would like to share?

Thanks guys
