Hello comrades,

Just bought a Dark Eldar Warrior set, and I've painted two. Guns aren't painted

Save the crap...I want to know your real thoughts on it so that I can improve.

They're black! And grey!
You might want to tone down the colour contrast a little bit, it jumps from grey to black to quickly. mix your paints a bit I guess. And the colour scheme is very plain.

I like it... but of course it all depends on how cartoony you want to be.

I think your contrast makes it look like latex... or some kind of rubber, very dark eldary

I also think cartoony styles look good on slender types like Eldar...

Honestly, color scheme is very boring.
Need some contrast in colors.

I think the black, gray , and silver screams out Dark Eldar more than purple, but then it boils down to personal preferences in the end. I like your colour scheme so far. But feel free to disagree with me.

I see what you mean by boring...but I just feel like colors such as red or green don't fit Dark Eldar. Like you said,GreatMess, it boils down to preference.

On a other note, when I get a wych squad I'll have some more color.

@Henners91: Hmm latex...It would fit the artwork of them jumping out of speeding transports. And explain the 5+ save haha.

@Nightwatch: Ahh, my camera likes to light things up quite a bit. The actualy guys aren't that contrast-y

@Shinoden: Digging the Talos!

Do you think I should flare up the eyes a bit? Change it from that flat red...

LoL, if anyone hasnt noticed yet, I just converted Dark Elf wychs into my Dark Eldar Wychs... save the time having to find them, order them, and wait... plus, I like the model make up.

I also converted Elf wyches into DE wyches. As for my color scheme I paint everything Purple with bone or green with bone simply because I like purple and green.

If you like grey go for it. If not I would suggest going for something more colorful, Maybe a red?

The curves on that model are very sexy
I think his helmet was the inspiration for howling banshees ( previous edition ones , and the better one! )

I like this colour scheme; very cool; left hand model is a bit smoother IMHO.

maybe the splinter pistols need some highlighting; and like you suggest- bright eyes would be just enough 'character' I think.

looks great!

It is a nice change from pink/black purple/black that everyone seems to only paint them in. I like it. I think you need to try and blend the black to grey a little better (easier said then done on something so small I know lol) but Im digging the look so far anyways

Didn't like them at first, but the more I look the more I realize it's a pretty good scheme. Clean up the lines on the right hand guy (The shoulder-lining looks awful on the one, but nice and sharp on the other) and slap some red gore or blood red on the eyes to make them pop and I think they'll look good.

If you wanted to add color I'd either paint the helmets or the weapons. A neon green would be fun.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

I love black and grey, ive painted 2 army's with it. Problem with it is, is that when you look at it from a distance, it tends to turn into a grey blur. Note that that has not kept me from painting 2 army's grey

But i must confess, my latest army has lots of color in it.

All a matter of preference.

OP , you can always paint the weapon blades in an eye catching color , that will solve the monotone issue.
