So Im thinking of making a Silver Tower of Tzeentch based off of a Necron Monolith. My idea was to heavily modify the sides to remove the necron imagery and gauss blasters (the empty spaces Id fill with Green Stuff), and build some kind of a cover out of platicard (or other ideas if you have any?) and have it be a complete pyramid to match the Thousand Sons egyptian theme. I was also considering leaving the crystal in it and building around it to the point then paint the crystal blue...

If any of you have any ideas or recommendations on how I can accomplish this, please feel free to speak your mind. Also, I need some help in terms of what kind and where to get plasticard that is good to work with.

Any help is appreciated

If you're going to build a pyramid for the chaos god of magic, one idea would be using the unfinished pyramid. with the beam of power coming out of an all seeing eye on a floating capstone. in my opinion that would ad a suitable mystical feel to it.

As you're asking this, I'm staring at the cover of "Horus Heresy - Thousand Sons" and it's images of the Towers of Prospero.

Take a look at the bastion accessory sprue, you could replace the Gauss Flayers with Heavy Bolters and the Crystal with either the heavy lascannon, or com-tower.. perhaps cutting panels away on the body to expose functional bits below.. I'd leave off the arches on each side and back, Also, consider not using the bottom panel and instead mounting it on peice of terrain, so it looks like it's been uprooted from the ground and flung into the air

And I am so totally going to steal this

<Rarity> I am not whining, I am complaining! Do you want to hear whining?

Thiiis is whiiiiining! Oooo, this mini is too expeennsive! I'm' going brrookee! Can't you make it cheaper? Oh, it's resin and not metal anymore! Why didn't you take it off the sprue first? That's gonna leave a pour spout, and the FLGS is so far away, WHY DO I HAVE TO SUPPORT IIIIIIIT?! </Rairty>

I was considerin modeling a monstrous eye on one side to designate the "front" and I was going to find a way to do terrain to model it like a floating hunk of rock anyway but if you do wish to make one, please post pics! I intend to once i start.

I think you're on a good idea with the pyramid and eye stuff.

I've started one some times ago But I haven't done much on it last months;

Here's what I've made for the base of the tower:
.

I made ti with some drop pod elements and plasticard.
I want it to look like a mix of rock, technology and magic. Im'going to add rock and living elements (eyes,mouths...) later.

I still don't know what the tower itself is going to look like (I'm on my third attempt but I'm still not satisfied -the base is the only thing I want to keep-).

I'd be glad to follow your progress, keep on posting!

Well Ive found a template for a monolith (which is attached), and Im very excited because this will allow me to build just a bare-bones monolith out of cardboard! No portal or anything like that to worry about. The only problem I can see is converting this template to make all the sides touch the top evenly... it will be a challenge for sure but one I am up to! Ill hopefully get started soon, but Im very busy with school and water polo... No promises haha

Well guys I started my tower, and atm its just a mono without the top. Made it out of cereal box cardboard and lots of blue tape... kinda a rough mockup.

Nice start. Maybe turn the four corners into obelisks rising above the central section.

Well I was going to build an actual pyramid and just match the angles to the current slope of the sides and glue it on top... I need more cereal though lol. If it works out well a plasticard mockup will most likely follow, unless the cardboard looks damn good haha

I would cover in a nice layer of paper mache. It would make it a hellovalot stronger.

Its only carboard... paper mache would be too heavy and it would make the carboard itself much too soggy. plus, the good thing about carboard is it doesnt have enough heft that even if i do drop it it wont be damaged
