First of high Dakka been lurking a long time but finally decided to get motivated.

So the idea behind this blog is to help motivate me to actually get something past the planning stage and to the point where its fully painted and my first projects going to be a dark mechanicus/obliterator cult strike force lead by a "enlightened" magos the force is gonna be pretty heavily converted as i want it to have its on look and not just be CSM with cogs and dark red armour.

To this end I've already ordered up some bloodletters to be converted into close combat servitors I'm thinking something like mean machine angel with there right arm replaced with a huge robotic one that ends in the blood letters normal blade and there left arm missing and some wood elf dryads which I'm hoping to turn into some kind of data daemon. But alas thrive yet to arrive.

So mean time I've decided to raid the bits box and build some Obliterators which brings me to my question how big should they be I'm thinking bigger than terminators maybe killa kan sized or could that be to big opinions please.

Generally Obliterators are Terminator sized but with cartoonish flesh-covered weapons in place of hands.

Well I've started some Oblits and they've ended up a tad bigger than a terminator.

I'm not overly thrilled by the chest gun on the fist guy and think ill probably remove it in favour of something more cannon like.

edit: spell checker = win

I like how this guy is shaping up but the plasma gun in his chest had to go not sure what to replace it with yet

Still not sure about this guys pose he's going to have a load of guns sprouting from his back so i wanted him kneeling/hunched over but the kneeling pose looks odd to me so may make him more like a giant mutant quasimodo instead

I'd say on the crouching guy go with a look similar to the marksman bad guy from the old pc game The Suffering.

Lots of rifle-sized weapons sticking out of the back!

Cheers that's the criter i was thinking of when i started in the guy but had no idea what he was or where he was from just a vague memory of a big guy with guns out his back.

Think ill aim for a pose something like this not quite kneeling but nicely hunched over but ill have a few of the back guns aimed in the direction he's looking.

I think I'm going to rework chest gun guy as I've spent the last hour or so looking at him and he just seems off ill move the bulk of his weaponry to his left arm but may be keep it partially melded with the chest i also think i need to bring his head forward as at the moment it seems to far back

Managed to get a little bit of playing about with chest gun guy and I'm relatively happy with it definitely a improvement over my last attempt i think
[Thumb - chest gun guy front.JPG]
decided to leave the head where it was as having it so far back just seems to make him seem even more armoured.

looking at this shot i think i need to rework the melding between face and targeting sensors so its less bulky.

[Thumb - left side.JPG]
decided to give hi a arm and this nid arm seemed perfect ill blend it in some more but i need to wait for the putty to dry so I'll tackle it tomorrow.

Not had much of a chance to work on my oblits as I've been sorting thru my older models and laying aside those that are destined for ebay. but any ways got some work done on the marksman oblit, have reposed him into what i feel is a better pose and given him some guns, still need to work out some kind of close combat weapon for him once that's sorted i can start to do the finale lair of work and add on all the tech gubinz and armour plates
