So a few you might have been following Archibald Jack's "Hundes des Kriegs", so I thought I'd introduce their main rivals, an Escher gang: the "The Violent Fems"

So far the gangs have gone head to head 4 times, and sadly i'd have to report that the score is 3 to 1 to them, but it's early days yet, and i'm still to fully learn how to play with an Escher gang.

Originally the name of the Gang was just actually a bit of fun... something not too serious, mainly becuase i'm no good at thinking up names, hence the majority of my gang are just numbers... no names, no atachements for when they eventually die.. haha...

My main point of inspiration is actually a mix of the Gothic Lolita phenomenon Suicide Girls and Alice in Wonderland. Cute, but dark, aluring, but deadly.... girls with guns and sharp pointy things, covered in blood but with a big doe eye expression on her face...... Or at least thats the thought.. haha

Being an Escher gang and requiring female models, it's been quite hard finding decent models that don't look too cartoony, so most of the gang will be predominantly made of GW Escher models.

There are a few mods here and there being planned but I've yet to get the proper tools and bits and pieces and even models that I require... and even inspiration of how to mod the Escher models. So most of the work that has been done at the moment has been paint jobs. Now Archiblad Jack and I both haven't picked up a paint brush for more than a decade so don't expect too much.. haha.

So I thought i'd start the paint jobs with the juves... 4 juves to run in front of the Van Saar Guns... soo many van saar guns. First one with a basic weapon swap mod. It was also a test model where I based the legs with pearlecent ink... it didn't work too well I stoped with it.

Next we have Lulu, shotgun ganger. She was actually a Infinity game model, but when I saw the character I thought it would fit quite well with the Necro universe. The original model has the shotgun right up at eye level but I didn't like the pose, so some putty and pinning later, i've moved the gun down more towards the waste level.

I decided to call her Lulu becuase when I saw the straps at her back, I was reminded of the black mage Lulu character off Final Fantasy 10. She is the first model i've named.

well that's it for now.. more to come later on... I've got a melta gun and dual pistoleir in the works. And maybe some small battle reports from the fights of the Violent Fems and their lives in the underhive.

Looking good indeed so far.

I have had to edit the thread title a bit though.

Heh, I've been eyeing that infinity model up as a potential for my own Escher gang. Looks like a perfect fit! Don't suppose you've any other infinity models in the works?

Hehe, yeah nice. Thanks man, I myself was eying it off for a while too before I decided to buy it. Yeah there are a few that I'm keeping an eye on. Trouble is my local hobby store doesn't have that great a range and the cost goes up quite quickly for international shipping. Still the models that i've got in mind are listed here below.... i'll get my hands on them one day.

- PanOceania ORC troops: There are a couple of female miniatures in the range and would make a good heavy with a head swap.
- Haqqislam - Ghulam Infantry: Bit of a butterface but good solid model to work with, again some sort of head swap needed I think.
- Nomad Reverend Moira: cool mini, maybe a leader or close combat character... also some of the mercenaries are cool as well.

Ok ok,

First of, thanks all who have posted and visited. Makes me happy someone is wanting to look at what i'm doing.. haha.

So introducing newest member of Violent Fems. (insert name here, I'm terrible of thinking of names) She's my newest close combat specialist. Rocking dual plasma pistols and a sword for that extra bit of hand hand slicey slicey goodness

so latest WIP. I've been kicking this idea around for awhile now and finally got around to doing it last week. I had a spare mad donna model and a spare duplicate Escher plasma and pick model lying around. So I took the Escher model and cut off her left arm.. the one holding the pick. Then took the spare Mad Donna left arm and put it in its place... putty to round off the shoulder and shoulder pad. Since I intend this model to be a close combat specialist (as Escher are suppose to be), i decided to give her a sword as well.. which is made of various bits and pieces and putty. She's mostly done except for maybe a holster or two, but i'm not sure about adding them since I don't want to make the model too cluttered. What do you guys think?

Model looks a little dirty but that's just becuase i've applied a very light black wash over it.

Nice going so far- stick in with the updates, I know how demoralising it is to get loads of views and no replies!
Really like your Lulu mini, but perhaps there could be more distinction between the layers of black? Perhaps a slightly lighter layer?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing more stuff!

Cheers, and thanks for the support Cadian XV, and thanks for the comments about Lulu. I guess the lighting isn't good in the photos but there are actually 2 tones of black there... I tried to match to the original Lulu's colour.

Yeah she's got some packs on her right hip which I guess could be a holster. I think i'll leave the model at the that. Revenge and Lulu?... bring it on... maybe I can do you the favour and kill another captain of yours

Looking good, As for names.... Try Google for female names.

Or just about any movie credits.

cheers and thanks for the suggestion, will do, but i'd like to have some sort of connection to a character or meaning behind the name, rather than just an arbitary name.
helgrenze wrote:Looking good, As for names.... Try Google for female names.

ok ok, so latest bits and pieces.

First up is a melta gun girl. Started life out as a GW Escher ganger with an autogun. I cut the front of the auto gun off and took the knife to a Chaos melta gun. I think the skulls and spikes fit in nicely with the underhive. Not sure if i'll even feild a melta gun in my gang in the future but nice to have the option.

Also found a reaper miniatures "Oktoberfest Fraulein" at my local game store the other day. I saw this minature and thought it was perfect for style of the gange I want to create. I think she'll be another close combat specialist as well. She'll be rocking dual swords and some sort of side arm.

ok ok.
Latest work on the ganger who is now called "Alice"

Progression of the work on Alice. The figure was originally a Reaper mini "Oktoberfest Fraulein" the arm held a beer stein so it's been cut away and a large knife added. Her other arm has also been adapted to hold a sword. Then some putty and chaos chain bits to add a bit of viciousness.

Progression of the work on Alice. Colour scheme is based on "Alice in Wonderland" costume.

hi All, thanks for the comments and the visit. Appreciate it.

Asrodrig wrote:Looking cool! You could always pick up the Ganger Girl from Troll Forge as well.

Cheers Asrodrig. I've eyed that character up before and it's a beautiful model and thanks for the suggestion. But when I decided which direction I wanted to take the gang in, the model doesn't quite fit in. My hope is eventually to have a gang that is completely customised, ie every single character is a custom work... or at least thats the idea... who knows, i might think of a conversion option later on for her anyway.
thanks

Thanks Mellon. Yeah i've known about Shadowforge. Thing is their minis just don't do it for me. They all look really cartoony or to quote Archibald Jack, 'too beer commercial'... I think they are nice minis but for me the proportions and things are all a little bit out of wack in their line I think. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Lionshammer wrote:Great conversions! I like the way you take established models and move them to a more personal look! I love Necro- my Van Saar would love to have a go at your Femmes!
Kiss Kiss - Bang Bang- sounds like fun!

haha, cheers Lionshammer. Luv Necro too. Archibald Jack and I just recently started playing again after a hiatus of about 6 years. If you like van sar, you should check his "Hundes des Kriegs" as well. He's building a var sar team up from scratch, really cool stuff, and they are the main opponents of my Violent Fems.

CommissarKhaine wrote:Looking good! I like that you gave her knives (well, short swords) instead of long swords, it's a more realistic pose with the way they're being held.

Thanks CommisarKhaine, yeah full size swords would have looked rediculous and a model this petite and in that pose. I tried various type until being happy with this. The biggest problem I had was actually finding a way to represent a side arm... In the end I found a guard holster and trimmed about 50% of the mass away before it looked proportionate.

Nice gang, much better than the usual Esher models. That's why I like Necromunda so much. You can put so much character in a gang.

Somehow the paintjob on Alice doesn't look quite as good as your other models. It's probably the blood. Hard to paint something like that so it looks good.

Looking good! My only crit would be that Alice's flesh lacks definition a bit, an effect reinforced by her pink hair. I believe a bit of definition around the eyes, cheekbones etc. would improve on an already great model!

Well - we need more Close Combat for that. My lads dig in and crank off rounds with their rapid fire skill (bless it). I am fitting some lads out for more up close and personal gameplay - but, as both gangs are quite young we are a bit starved for melee. It insights a fair bit of excitement though - like two crank filled chimps dancing around a pair of dice giggling frantically. happy times.

Except for this last scenario we played - sort of bastardised "zombie horde" rules, it wound up being an absolute s**t fight. One of my lads got bitten - but he recovered thankfully. The Fems didn't fair so well though. heh. Brraaaaiiinnns!

Archibald Jack
